DCA MM Morning on 4/3
First, thanks for all the help! Here was our morning at DCA...
5:40 Wake up and shower
6:07*Make 10:30 Storyteller Cafe ADR
6:27*Leave room
6:41*Arrive at main gate turnstile and get in row 20 people deep. Every turnstile had it's own line except for one set of two turnstiles that only had one line DS8 asks the CM if this turnstile will also open. She affirms it, suggests that I wait in the other line just in case while he waits there. DW stays in line and I join DS8 and DS6. About 5 minutes later, a woman in the line next to us asks if I can let her party of ten split and go through both turnstiles since "they are a party of ten." I politely respond, "I think we will go through this turnstile first and you can go through your turnstile." Eventually her mom comes behind me and is very upset when DW joins us. She says "we've set a bad example for our kids." I wanted to say that her daughter set a bad example for her kids by asking to budge in front of us in our line. Go figure. Feel free to shred me for being a jerk.
7:00 RD--Kind of crazy like it used to be for the TSM dash at DHS. But once people get to the RSR rope that leads us down, things quiet down a bit. They make people get in a single file line on the RIGHT, so make sure to stay to the right. I had read something about this, but didn't really get it or realize how quickly the single file line started as we were walking. Fortunately, we were on the right so we were in a good spot.
FOR THE TIMES POSTED, I list the time we entered the que followed by the time, we boarded the ride (or preshow), and finish with the time we exited the attraction (not got off the ride, but actually got out of the exit).
7:05-7:11-7:19 RSR--There were 19 people in front of us*
7:22-7.27-7:31 Mater
7:36-7:43-7:49 California Screamin'
7:53-8:13 RSR FP Line while DW and DSons go to Bug's Land--If you get to the RSR FP line earlier, you will get an earlier return time, but the major thing to remember is just to get in that line before the 8:00 RD when everyone else that doesn't have MM jumps in line. I was fine at 7:53 and I wouldn't have been much further back if I would have been in line at 7:59 as long as I beat the RD. We had a*10:30-11:30 FP Return. Boys went on tuck and roll's drive em buggies--bugs land opened at 8:00*so they had to wait for about 10 minutes to go on a ride. It would have been more efficient to do a ride somewhere else at that time.
0:00-8:16-8:19*Ladybug boogie
8:20-8:35-8:54 ToT
9:03-9:07-9:11 Golden Zephyr while DW gets WoC FP for 9:00 Blue section. I think you said that was good.
9:12-9:32-9:35 Goofy's Sky School
9:57-10:04-10:08 Monsters Inc.*
10:13 Walked past RSR FP and they were already gone.*
10:28-10:40-10:49 RSR with FP
10:58-11:01 Storytellers Cafe--I booked a 10:30 ADR this morning, but with the 10:30-11:30 RSR FP window, we had to push it back. We just showed up at 10:58, told them we had a 10:30 ADR, and they easily accomodated us. Perhaps it was easier because we were at the end of the breakfast window.
We had a great morning, but I'm fairly certain this was one of the busiest mornings at DCA. I spoke with a CM and a few other tourists that had been here earlier in the week, and they all said it was way more crowded. In any case, we did just fine thanks to all the help here. THANK YOU.
