Ok, it's stupid question time... All this talk about capris is making me nervous. We thought we'd be living in shorts except for formal and semi night. Are shorts poo-poo'ed in the dining rooms on the other nights?

The Wench, who is starting to panic.

My experience was yes, other than first night and unless they were fancy shorts, not really accepted. Sorry to burst the bubble! I remember asking why jeans weren't acceptable and they said that they were trying to keep the old fashion of "dressing" for dinner. This was the way the cruisers of old would do it.

Anyone else have experience? Advice?

Great big shout out to all of you leaving tomorrow! Have a safe and happy trip!

Hey guys,

Just quickly checking in. I got packed finally and we are now in Winnipeg waiting for our flight in the morning. Still hasn't really sunk in yet, probably won't until we get on the plane.

I'll be thinking about you all when we are waiting are clearing security with 3 kids at 5:00 am. But by afternoon we will be visiting with the mouse. :cool1: :thumbsup2 :Pinkbounc

Instead of saying I'll talk to you soon, I can now say I'll be seeing you soon!!

Barb

Hi Barb,

Glad you guys made it to Winnepeg. Does it feel any warmer yet? :rotfl: Just to let you know. My son emailed your daughter today. A bit late for you, but then that's not unusual for him. He tends to put things off. Have a great time getting there and before you know it we'll all be toasting the Mouse!

Julie - I'm seeing a definite pattern here. It's black for me too. Only have a dress, black gauchos and a lot of shorts. Guess I'd better get shopping too, or I might have to resort to room service. I have lots of shoes too!

QOTD: Are banana hammocks allowed in the dining room? :lmao: oooo sorry, bad visual. :sail:

Sue

Add in one more girl who will be dressed in black for formal night. I'm wearing my "little black dress" to formal night as well as Palo. Tim will have a black suit with maroon shirt and tie. Summery skirts with shirts will be my attire for other dinner nights. I'm kinda looking forward to dressing up for dinners. So, will we all be in black for formal night then? It'll look like we're some kind of cult or something....lol!

I just picked up another suitcase to borrow from my friend and will be packing this weekend. But, man, I don't know if I'll get everything done or not. Tomorrow we have to go to town, get a check, go to the bank, groceries. Then head home to hook up the trailer to the van to go get our lawnmower which was being worked on and bring it back. We have a family get together at 4 which I have to make a big salad for. Then Sun. we have another family get together at 2. And I've got to mow the grass which will take like 1 1/2 hours. And I've got to clean the car in and out still. I'm doing laundry right now. We have to work Mon. and Tue. and Wed. we leave at like 5 in the morning. And we have to find the time to get our tags renewed before we leave. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. You'll be sure to recognize us from the crowd.....We'll be the ones snoring on the benches waiting to board the ship.

AWWWW!!! That kinda choked me up there....I get emotional like that.

 everyone leaving - see ya real soon!

Guys, what are guachos?

Sue, it's "resort casual" for dinners. There's a wide range of interpretations of this, but in my book it doesn't mean shorts. Do what you want, though - really, you won't be alone with the shorts thing I hear. Woman can make shorts look very nice. But dinners should be something different than what you are wearing during the day.

TTFN! Been scrapping all night.

Barb- Have a Super time at WDW!!!

Roses- At least you have a good reason to shop.

CG- Gauchos are long shorts, sota at the knee or a little below.

Right now I'm praciticing for the late night buffet on the ship by eating a burrito. Terrible I know but I bought them from the Schwaans guy today and it was calling my name from the freezer. Having this whole week off my sleep schedule is a mess, stay up late and sleep in late. I have a dream of getting up really early on the cruise a least 2 or 3 days, we'll see if Disney can make that dream come true.

Jewelgrrl- I just noticed you live in KY( a little slow I know). We lived in Lexington for 3 years. I really miss the early springs we had when we lived there.

We're off to the airport at 3:00 AM, so I will have to make this short.. Spent all day packing and running around town doing all the last minute chores.

Just spent the last 45 minutes catching up with the thread. Boy, you guys have been busy.

Barb, maybe we'll see you at WDW. I'll be on the lookout.

I'll see everyone on the ship..... :sail: Can't wait to meet everyone.

Have a safe trip everyone :wave2:

Question- On the Welcome to the Bahamas immigration sheet what do we put for Date of Arrival? IS CC considered the Bahamas?

We're SOOOOOO excited :cool1: . Didn't get a wink of sleep last night.

We're outta here :car: . See you at the port

I asked my TA how to fill out the Bahamas Immigration Arrival Card- :thumbsup2

Getting choked up reading that people are REALLY leaving now! WOW! Makes it all seem so real now......April, I hear you on the emotion. I've said it before, just seeing the signs at Disney or the port chokes me up! Never fails, even if I was just there!!

Thanks to Trish, I had a dream last night that we were some of the last ones to get to the port. When we walked in everyone yelled our names, just like Norm in Cheers! I was so embarrassed I couldn't move! More like a nightmare than a dream!

Gotta get going, getting our hair cut today. Love having friends with beautician licenses! No salon for me!

C ya!

April & Suzie , I'm another one who will choke up when I see the Magic in port. And again when we board, and again at the ending of Golden Mickeys, etc. And I am not an emotional person by any means. Same thing with WDW and the shows there. Just get emotional over the Mouse for some reason.

Today it is pouring - son's baseball practice is cancelled. I want to start packing, DH wants to go to Target. Not a bad idea, I still need Dramamine and things like that. We've got to get started packing today, this week is going to be crazy with one baseball game, one baseball practice, one band concert, and DH and I are both working right up until Thursday. We'll be exhausted too!

Lisa

Good Morning Everyone!! Well just 7 days and we will be sailing. Sadly, I have to get my First mate packing. Today we will be cleaning, laundry, and packing. Thy are forecasting rain for this afternoon.

Our game plan is take the zoo to camp on Thursday and Friday leaving at noon from Gainesville.

So any ideas where we want to grab dinner Friday night in Cape Canaveral? Grills maybe? I have yet nor heard anything about Bernaus Surf and Turf, which is where Major Nelson went to go have a drink when Jeannie upset.
