So those of you who are over here, let's hear it for the Hawks!!!
Congrats to you guys, but we are Steelers fans (at least DH is - I'm a Redskins fan) so I must root for my guys team. I really don't get into it (or care) unless the Skins are in it. So, I will be mostly socializing and watching the commercials. I'll watch a quarte or two, but no real interest. We are more of a college football household here. GO PENN STATE! That was our excitement for the year!

Hey Guys.
Thanks for the wonderful comments! Definitely a bright spot of my day! :thumbsup2 I am very disappointed at the prospect of cancelling as we have been waiting for this for almost two years. However, last time around I was sick for the entire 9 months, so I especially appreciate your comment, CG. As least I have a few more days to think about it. :hourglass

Okay, I really think you should consider rooting for the Seahawks and here's why! Mark Rypien (Redskins Superbowl MVP) is an alumni of Washington State University, currently lives in Spokane and is a Seahawks fan. He predicts the Seahawks over Pittsburg 24-20.

:jumping2:GO SEAHAWKS!!!!! :jumping2:

You convinced me! I needed a team to root for as our washups didn't make it this year. Shhhheeessshhhhh!

:jumping2: And just so you know, us New Englanders didn't know winning teams for eons - it's just recently that we have had this streak of amazing players and championships - we are still in awe of it - no, it's not gotten old hat yet. But man, are we dissapointed in the Patriots this year - but it's like old times again. I mean, come on, it had been since 1918 since the Red Sox were even at the World Series. We are the epitome of defeatists here in New England.

I got a say, the # of posts in the last 2 days is crazy, I couldn'y believe how far I Had to go Back. WELCOME everyone new.

Suzie- Haven't gotten my invite, PMed you with my other email.

SUPERBOWL- Growing up in Pittsburgh (All my family is still there) I am of course a Steeler fan but not that into football on the whole. I'm so excited the Steelers made it to the Big Show but now I'll actually have to watch the game instead of just eat and socialize for the night!!!

BL-I just can't seem to keep up with the Biggest Loser thing so everyone just keep posting your results so we can cheer you on!! I myself am down 8 pounds and the clothes are getting loose. I actually got up BEFORE work to exercise today!!

I don't want to start any Political debate here but got some exciting news. My 16 your old cousin is down in DC for the next 4 months as a Congressional Page. On Tuesday she got to go to the State of the Union address. All the pages were seated on the back wall by the door where the President enters. Well, she got to shake the President's Hand!!!!! To say the least she was sooo excited.

PIRATE NIGHT pirate: - Can't remember who asked but my kids will be dressing up for Pirate Night.

Any Survivor Watchers?

Hi Rubysmom , sorry I do have to go with my DH and root for Pitt . He is so excited I can't stand it . Usaully i am so against him . i am a Dallas fan myself , I was always with the men in the TV room watching Dallas since I was 7 .

Mketting , BIG survivor fan here , I cannot believe they voted off Tina , I think they really needed her for the challenges . What do you think about the solitary confiment on the other island ? Kinda neat huh ? I am liking the new twists they added this time . Also do you know the cave they have tribal counsels in is made of styrofoam ?

Kinda stupid to vote her off. Being a 35 year old myself I hate to say it but the "older Women" tribe have a tough road ahead. Our whole family Loves the show and look forward to Pizza and Survivor every thursday.

: The Roses - is your DH in the mouse business?

He is! He is part of a Disney venture called MovieBeam. Which means I am part of a Disney Spouse venture called Enjoy that Employee Discount! Did you notice the number of bags he was carrying? :sunny:

We will be the couple decked out entirely in Disney garb. I can't get this kind of discount at Wal-Mart! DH only complains when I make him wear the Princess undies. :) Hey! They're cheap!

The Roses

sorry,
I pm'd you a while ago... I won't be needing any wristbands... Not sure about going or not! :sad2:

Thanks though for all of your effort

I think I've figured the invite problem out. The ones that didn't receive were using secondary emails like hotmail, etc. I know they have junk/spam mail settings that can/will delete emails if they think they are spam or not in their address book. That's the only thing I can think of. The site shows in the managment area that the invites were sent.

Again, I apologize about this and if you STILL haven't received an invite and I told you I sent it, PLEASE let me know.

Oh man, I gotta go find that Tag Fairy right now!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :lmao:

My husband is such a movie afficiando. He will be so interested in what your husband is doing for WED.

inthemood, see, I totally stunk at this - thus I called Suzie in off the bench to start coordinating everything for us. But I was optimistic that you would be going. I need more Yankees. Please keep us informed about your decision as the 13th looms. Its good to know that I wasn't the only one with these misgivings.

mketting, (missed you by the way) Suzie has the ability to set up a way to keep track of the BL stuff over at yahoo. That is awesome news about your loss - you and Pat are rockin! Suzie had the early gains, but she is now dubbed "bad influence girl".

Awesome about your cousin - there is nothing more exciting. I got to meet the President when I was that age and it was the most memorable experience for me. I became seriously involved in politics after that time - went to college studying international affairs and international law, became an F.S.O., then well, diverted for family reasons and went into commercial real estate, but I took a sabatical to go back to politics and work in the state's legislature to write some brownfields legislation, became a chief of staff to two committees, then I had to go get a real life again and I forced myself to leave politics (it was tough to do as I loved it so much) and went back to work in the business world - you can't be an aide forever - but all this is meant to point out that it's in my blood after that one episode.

I will be tied up all day tomorrow at our local caucuses as I am on a delegate on a slate to go to the convention to nominate our Governor candidates. My husband is the ward chairman - we met in the Legislature - he is huge in our state's political machine. We both are well known for policy work.

All this being said - I do not get passionate for one party or another - so never fear, you will not get a big fight from me either way. I just love the process and the policy work.

castlegazer....I have no problem with the state of Mass.In fact some of my favorite things come from Mass.....like the redsox, patriots and bruins.

you have to stop using the term yankees in your post because one of my least favorite things is a yankee(as in new york yankees)lol

boy this is fun starting to post things.....you all will be sorry!

hey to all of you survivor fans, what do you think of Richard Hatch and his problems with the irs. It's big news in Rhode Island(small state and not much to talk about on the local news).

Just teasing you! :p

I spent too long in the South - I am very aware of being a Yankee (and not the pinstripe wearin' kind):bitelip: I definately no not like the pinstripe wearin' kind.

Richard Hatch - I totally don't get it. I don't understand this whole situation - do you think his purporting about some deal with CBS due to cheating is true? I just can't figure out why he wouldn't pay taxes - and this has been going on FOREVER, he's had plenty of time to take care of it - been offered deals, but refused it all. It's just not the actions of a sane person, that's for sure.

I don't know what richard Hatch was thinking...or wasn't thinking. He should have taken the deal they offered him.Now he is kept in jail untill they sentense him in april.
He did some crazy things like telling his tax person to make two sets of w-2 forms, one filed like he is going to pay the taxes and one without them payed....

Wow this is great fun.I have more post in the last 10 minutes than in the past 2 months :cool1:

See, I don't think he is sane.

Yankees in our house is a four letter word. Sorry, anything NY in our house is a four letter word! Variety is the spice of life and what makes the world go round. Same as politics. I never get into debates about them because I'm over my head as soon as I open my mouth!!

Richard Hatch....what can you say about a man who ran around naked on an island to win money....HE'S INSANE! I totally think he knew what he was doing all along. Trying to keep ahold of what he thought was ALL his....um, the government ALWAYS owns a part of everything! Or at least has their finger in the pot.

That said, I probably won't be on the boards much this weekend. We've had some very sad news that my grandmother is ill. She hasn't been eating or getting out of bed this past week. My aunt is taking her to the doctor today but things are not looking good. We've been called in as backup to stay with her during the day and my other aunt from MD will be with her at nights. Hopefully it's something that can be corrected with medicine and not something worse. She's been there all my life and we've never lived more than an hour away. I know she won't be here forever (she's 87 years old) but I really don't want it to be now. This would be the 2nd hardest family death (excluding when my mom dies) that I would have to face.

So, keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Oh, and grandma too!

Suzie , I am so sorry , my thoughts and prayers are with your family . There is nothing harder then losing a loved one . I am fortunate enough to have lost only my Uncle in the past 20 years , but he was like me Grandpa so it was aweful absolutley aweful . I found my Grandfather passed away in his chair when i was 7 and and I ran over to sit on his lap . It sticks vividly in my mind because i was at that age when things are so hard to accept .

I hope that if they give her new meds that it will help and she can spend many more years with you and your family !

My worst fear is also my MOm or Dad but even worse my kids , if anything ever happened to them I don't know if I can ever recover

Good Luck , we will all be thinking of you !
