4/25/09 Magic - First Visit To Tortola!

Paula

We went down early last time. I believe it cost money to go to the port even from the airport. It is cheaper to rent towncar service (for 4 people). Also, they get you there earlier and at the time "you" want. Therefore you can get on the ship earlier.

I think we used FLtours. They were great. There are others as well.

Hi Diane,

I am definately thankful for unlimited text. :worship:

It will be neat to see how much the children have changed in 2 years.

The adults have not gotten any older I'm sure!:rotfl2:

I can't wait till it's less than 100 days.

Hi All,

We're in for the fish extender exchange. It's become tradition ever since it started on the first Panama Canal cruise.

For the newcomers, don't worry about the FE exchange, make it whatever you want. Some of the best gifts have been homemade.

We're in cabin 6582.

You must be one of those glass half full type people  ...lol

I did fill up for under 80 cents last night...I don't remember gas being that low in ages. Now at least we can hope for a day (just one in January) where the dollar is back at par and gas is 1.35.

Any reason to keep the Disney trip on track...I can;t think about the dollar or it'll make me crazy!! My Mom checks on it every day and it drives me nuts!

Is anyone else planning on going down early and staying at Diseny property who would like to go to the port together and share the charges? There are only 3 of us. A little to early to really plan on this, but that is just what I do, plan and prepare :):thumbsup2

Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was nice with your families. Now the kids are going to be counting down to Christmas before they think of the cruise :cloud9: countdown.:lovestruc

DH and I are also in for the fish extenders

Anyone thinking of staying at the Hyatt the night before? We are flying in the evening of the 24th and are planning to stay at the Hyatt for the night.

Good Friday evening one and all!

We are going down on Friday but are traveling to Cape Canaveral to spend the night.

And I wanted to point out my new avatar - thought it was time to change out the LSU National Championship one. It snowed in Baton Rouge yesterday and the pic is of the LSU mascot, Mike, lounging in the snow! He is such a beautiful animal!

Now that we have signed on for fish extender exchange, can anyone direct me to directions for making one??? I know I've seen it on the boards somewhere, but who knows where ??????

Thanks!

Check out this thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607&page=2 Post #27

It gives basic dimensions on how to create a Fish Extender.

Here is a picture of the one we made for our April 2008 cruise:

Thanks for the directions!! I saw some cute Mickey fabric at Wal-mart yesterday. I think I'll go back today and get enough to make ours.

today

Included was information about when the payments were due :scared1:
and some other info.

When will we receive specific information about excursions?? Included with the info sent today was the date that we could begin booking the excursions but not what they were or how much they cost.

I can't remember from our last cruise since it has been five years ago.

Anyone know??

It's me "lsutigger2" only I'm at work. This is my alias :thumbsup2

Thanks for the information about the excursions. I started looking at them. Now just to make up my mind, and, oh yea check with my DH. After all it is his birthday trip ! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Has anyone visited Tortola yet? Any information to share?
We took this same cruise five years ago, so I have some sense of what to expect while at St. Thomas/St. John.

For those of you staying at the Hyatt the night before I will be there as well. My flight has been changed again, but it looks like I will be arriving some time between 11am and 12 noon.

If you want to meet up let me know. Pretty soon we will be in the same year counting down.;)

Have one question, if I counted right the day I can make my reservations for the excursions is Feb 10, 2009. Can someone tell me if I counted right?

My husband and I are staying at the Hyatt the night before the cruise however we won't be arriving until around 9:30 unless I can talk him into taking an earlier flight. Would love to meet up for a drink.

We are officially under 4 months now!
