We did Ariels Grotto @ 8:30 for the 10:15 WOC show on Sunday April 17th, this was our 3rd time of doing a 8:30 dinner followed by the 10:15 show.
There were only 18 people in the restaurant the entire time we were there, this should have given us a clue as to attendance levels for the show.
We got to the Preferred Dining Line around 9:45pm and found a whole 12 people there including our party of 5. The CM took us to the Preferred area (they now have nice 'follow me' flags which they wave so you don't loose them as they wind through the FP crowds).
By showtime there were maybe 25-30 people in the entire Preferred viewing area. The entire 'circle' and rear area were empty! We started by the front rail, but then moved back to the top of the 1st stairs, right side hand rail, for a show center viewing. From here we could even see the water surface.
We were expecting the CMs to let the regular FP crows into the preferred area, but they never did. We had the whole thing to ourselves - it was weird. Here's the pic at 10mins to showtime:
The show was exceptionally clear that night, the best we've seen. The L.G.M. pods didn't rise during the Buzz segment, and the TRON post show segment is definitely gone. We didn't see it any of the 3 nights we were in the park @ showtime.
