With gratitude to all who helped us prepare for our trip, we offer this brief review of an incredible week.
We were DH, DW, DD 11, DD 9, DS 6 and my parents in their early 70s. We had connecting category 5 staterooms, 7100 and 7102.
This was this first "big ship" cruise for all of us. We had previously been on Windjammer sailing ships but had been to Disney World many times in the past 10 years.
To say we loved the ship is an understatement. It is well thought out and carries the same level of attention to detail that you expect in the parks. We were very pleasantly surprised at how in spite of there being 2700+ pax on the ship, it doesn't feel that way. The ship is elegant without being over the top.
Our server was Navneet from India and he was outstanding. He joked with the kids and made them feel at home but at the same time making the adults feel we were in an elegant restaurant. We had APLAPLA rotation and all felt it was the best as we were in Lumiere's for formal/semi-formal night and Parrot cay for Mexi... night. Food was outstanding and we ate far too much of it.
Stateroom was large and more than adequate. We enjoyed the verandah but agreed it wasn't necessary when we cruise again (we'll see about prices!). Georgia the stateroom host was efficient +++ and we always had a towel animal to greet us.
We swam with Stingrays in Grand Cayman and dolphins in Cozumel. Both were incredible. DS had a nasty accident in Chankaab Park on the way home (jumping from pillar to pillar and missed hitting his forehead). We hurried back to the ship as blood gushed and the medical folk were so kind to us. Don't hesitate to use them if necessary!
Castaway Cay is amazing! I wish the ship skipped Key West (we have been there several times before) and went to CC twice. It is an awesome place. They had to pry us loose from our beach chairs to return to the ship.
We were sorry to miss the DIS meet Mon. in LeiLani'a suite but we were getting the kids settled in the kids club for the first time. Our kids didn't use the kids clubs much but we were glad to have them with us to share our Magical week. We will plan another trip on the Magic for certain!
Any questions, fire away!
