OK, I bought tickets from Cadiz to Seville and back. I got the 8:55 train out and arrive in Seville at 10:48 and then return to Cadiz at 6:08 and arriving at 8:04. The cost for 2 adults and 2 children was 76.60 Euros. There appears to be a 60% off discount fare 15 days out, but I chose to get the reserved ticket.

The web site is http://www.renfe.es/ and the English version (check box at the bottom left) is not that great. I used the Spanish version and used http://translate.google.com/#es|en| to translate everything. Slow, but I think I know what I was getting.

OK, this is undoubtedly a tacky question....I'm planning to book a new cruise while we're on board, but the next one we want to take all our ds&d, dsil, ddil's, dgs&dgd. We will be treating all of them, which will be a major major stretch! I know that we can only reserve 1 stateroom for each of the 3 of us on this cruise, which leaves us 2 staterooms short.

If I found someone on the cruise who wasn't planning on rebooking, could that person book a cruise for my dear family using my family names and deposit money, but their own discount as being a current cruiser? Then I would transfer all the reservations to our TA and proceed from there.

Is that even possible? Probable? Thanks for your input, Love,
Ann

You can book one cruise for each individual on the current cruise (or was two per person permitted - I forget). In addition, there must be at least one adult in each of the newly booked staterooms. You could book one new cabin for you, and up to 3+/- newbies in one stateroom ... and a second cabin with your DH, and up to 3+/- newbies in a 2nd stateroom. If you have a 3rd cruiser with you on tha TA cruise, they could book a tird stateroom, under the same auspices.

If you found a "friend" who is crusing on the T/A (not in your party), they COULD book a stateroom for an upcoming cruise (with the balance of your relatives), but I your "friend" would have to actually sail on the cruise with your other guests. I am not sure if your T/A "friend" could book the cruise (with the balance of your relatives), then eventually remove themselves from the cruise in the future. If that is permissable, DCL would still require at least ONE adult to be booked PER stateroom. Of course, whether you decide to changing sleeping quarters on your own - that would be possible as well, as DCL has the ability to modify room keys, once all parties have boarded.

I hope this helps, and was not too confusing. :thumbsup2

I have read where they are giving out "coupons" at the end of the cruise for you to give to family members or friends. They get the same discount as you do if they book within a certain timeframe. I'm not sure if you can get more than one coupon. I'm sure someone will chime in here and tell you more. I haven't been on a sailing where they did this yet so I'm not really sure how it works.

Ann, you might want to check whether DCL still offers "Family or Friends" certificates. For awhile, we received one certificate for each reservation made onboard.

I always have the nightmare that I am late getting to the terminal and miss my cruise.:scared1: Every single time we go on a cruise I have the same nightmare.

Krisann: I have tried emailing and sending you a PM about the Lanyard team info and have not heard back from you yet???

Jan: I think we have sailed with you before, back a few years ago during a Halloween cruise. It may have been the year I was pregnant.

I have that same nightmare!!!

Does anyone have experience with flying in day of sailing? I have DCL flights and I'm not scheduled to arrive MCO until 1:30. Anyone have any idea if I'll be able to make it to the meet at 3:00? I have to get my luggage, get to the bus, 45 min or so to port, I'll probably miss lunch...

How many others are flying in the same day? Is it too late to change, do you think?

We are traveling the same day but get in at 11:10 so we should have plenty of time to meet the DCL bus etc...

Were flying from Toronto and we have heard anything yet. I agree with you. I think DCL is having difficulties getting us from Barcelona to Toronto.

We too are leaving from Toronto and are leaving on AC at 6:30 a.m. direct to Orlando and from Barcelona via AC ( or likely Lufthansa) to Frankfurt and then onto toronto 4 hours later..

I am 'catching' up on the thread so my apology if this has already been answered.

I know someone (not sure who tho) on the PC cruise took along a small printer with her....she printed out pics every day in her room and did pages each day. Maybe that would be the more cost effective way of doing things (instead of getting Shutters to print pics)? :confused3

http://www.consumersearch.com/photo-printers - shows different options.

Sorry, as I am catching up I am deleting my posts as things have already been discussed... is there a date set for the scrapbooking,,, I would love to attend

I'm also a scrapbooker. I've always made traditional scrapbooks but I bought the digital scrapbook software last summer and have used it twice to make scrapbooks for school projects. :thumbsup2: It was a lot of fun but I do miss the feel of the scrapbook, just don't have the time for it!:guilty: Krisann I love the idea of downloading the pictures and creating the scrapbook on the cruise. It would be wonderful to come home and just print it out!:cool1:

For all you digital scrapbookers out there (and those who are looking for a waterproof camera), last sumer I got the Cannon Powershot D10. It is waterproof to 30 ft, drop proof up to 6 ft (okay, I only dropped around three feet but that was an accident!:rolleyes1 shh, don't tell dh!:flower3:) and takes pictures and video. It was really neat last summer to take video on the water slides at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon! I've always used disposable waterproof cameras in the past but it was great to have a zoom feature on this one. :thumbsup2

I'll be bringing on this cruise so I can download the water pictures from CC and digitally scrapbook them right away!:goodvibes

just curious if you would mind sharing what that camera costs? I use the Olympus 850SW and you can pick them up around $125 (newer model) now and that is what our family all has and love them but wondered if there is something cheaper out there because people are always asking about my camera.

We're moving to the new thread today right?

I hope it's ready!

We are still working on it - we still have 6 pages to on this one - so keep posting here - there are still a few posts that need to be added to the other thread.

OK Guys I know I'm new here but.....I need some Disney prayers :worship:, pixie dust :wizard:, novenas:littleangel:, rubbing of Buddah's belly :goodvibes, well you get the picture.....this trip is very important to me....We are celebrating myself being tumor free (brain) for 6yrs and my husbands 40th bday. We also lost our 6yr old nephew 5yrs ago and have been promising our boys a *big* vacation since then. (Sorry for the sob story.)
Loooong story short (or short for me anyway), we booked our return flight thru Expedia. We had to call Swiss Air to arrange seat assignments ourselves and decided to do this yesterday. We called and <snip> an hr later came to the conclusion we were NOT on the flight we were told we were. We were booked flying out of Spain 4/4 NOT 4/24. NOW we did not book these flights ourselves an Expedia agent did so over the phone (and she looked up departures on the 10th so HOW she put us in on the 4th is BEYOND me). They now are saying no where in their system does it show they booked this...it appears in their system as being booked on line. (I am SURE Visa can trace this) They want to charge us $75 a ticket to rebook and can't get us on a flight for anywhere NEAR what we paid for these tix. It will take us 8wks to get the original $4k back from Swiss Air which is money I can't afford to have held up during this cruise?!?! :sad2: So you see my dilema. I have ALOT of phone calls to make. Any suggestions (aside from you should have used Disney lol) are moooore than welcome. Thanx for letting me vent!!

- Can't answer about Palo.

- Wasn't posting specifics about the pre-cruise meets on the Boards for safety.

Couldn't see updated info on our web site either. :confused3

I believe you and your spouse can EACH book three cruises. We had three in our cabin last month and all of us booked new cruises and I was able to book two. (Monica, please correct me if that's wrong). If somebody here can't confirm this, a post on the main cruise forum should get us an answer.

They were still dong the friends and family coupon last month, but it is only for an OBC, NOT a 10% discount. $100 for 3-4 day cruises, $200 for 7 day.

I think they were around $250. We got ours with credit card points so I'm not really sure of the cost. :confused3 (so technically the cost was nothing!:thumbsup2)

We looked at the Olympus (which online has the same price as the Canon) but the quality was better with the Canon. That and we'd always had great luck with out Canon cameras in the past so decided to stick with them.

Missymowse, :grouphug: I'm sure it will work out in the end but what a hassle to go through!! Make sure to get a supervisor when you call since the regular employees can't refund the tickets. Good luck!! Our thoughts and prayers are behind you!:thumbsup2
