Interesting, Steven. And you say it really works? Wonder if it would help while working... Too bad I can't wear jewelry or watches at work. I haven't worn a watch for years but I think I need one for this trip just so I can be where I want/need to be on time. There aren't many public clocks on the ship. Thanks for the info.

I just looked on the website. Too bad the one I like is $3400!!!

Does anyone have any idea what the price is for the Rainforest pass? I know we got it on the PC but honestly can't remember what it cost?

As a first time Disney cruiser and new to these boards, I don't know how to send a personal message. Can someone fill me in on the process?

KileyBeth..Where are you in Delaware. I'm in New Castle.

TRANSPORTATION...Kim (Delaware City) didn't you say you booked Disney air transpo? So did I. Maybe we'll be on the the same flights.

Welcome Obobber!!!! You can't pm until you have 10 post then you just click on the disname to the left of the person you want to PM and type away!

I think the Kim you are referring to (I am a Kim as well) lives in De County, PA though not Delaware City:)

I grew up in New Castle as did my DH. Nice to have you on board.

Seeing as how it is snowing again. Time for a question of the day for the book exchange crew.

What types of books/ Authors are you bringing to read?

I think I will have James Grisham, Dan Brown, David Baldacci and Greg Iles

T

Nothing left by Grisham I haven't read :rotfl: Have read a few by all those other authors though,(have a Balducci set aside) I am on a Robert Ludlum marathon right now. I will also bring some light reads like Debbie Macomber and Terri Blackstock that I have set aside and am trying not to touch until we go. A new James Patterson probably and the newest Ridley Pierson one about Disney if it is out.

joius Chicken Cheesesteak please! Kiley... I have been to Delaware ...Rehobeth ......Nice Beaches! Did not shop though....Camped out in the natnl park with our boy scout troop .... [/QUOTE said:
I'm thinking we aren't getting cheesesteaks maybe something a bit more orange and blue as opposed to red/white????!! My latest guess!

Grew up going to Rehoboth all summer long, parents had a place down there.
Cape Henlopen is nice for a relaxed day but I  my boardwalk in Rehoboth.
My extended family has owned an ice cream shop on Penny Lane for several years. No more tho, so sad:sad1:

If anyone visits the Avenue Inn right on Rehoboth Ave. is delightful, where we always stay.

All of you Philly people are going to LOVE my FE gift!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Cheesesteak!! Cheesesteak!! Cheesesteak!! ;)

Now with wearing the watch 24/7 I sleep through the night no problem.

Ambien helps me with this... ;)

I know! I keep hearing about all the great priceline deals for CI&S but I have never used priceline and am worried I would flub it up. Didn't even try last time because I needed accomadations for family of 6 and did hear priceline does not guarantee that or there was some trouble with that. Anywho, it is a very nice, very clean place which is the way I want to start my vacation so I will just bite the un-priceline like price and try not to worry about it.

I called CI&S to see if they had any more kids' suites left and they are sold out. I was trying to Priceline a room for my mom and her friend but it asked me to select another area and/or another star level - so I thought I better check to see if there were any PL rooms left b4 I moved forward. It did not want to accept my $49 offer like it did when I booked it. Dang!

She may have to pay AAA rate to stay at that hotel. Not sure it's worth the risk trying to PL a room at the CI&S.:confused3

Has anyone seen or done the toboggan ride from Monte to Funchal?

Im wondering if its fun or just insanely foolish. Would 2 adults and 1 child be able to do it together?

Thanks!
Eleasa

We're planning on it! :yay:

1A - 1C (dh and 3rd child)
1A- 1C (me and middle child)
2A - 1C (my mom, her friend and oldest child)

Can't wait!

How many people think they might be interested in learning to knit? I know Donna is, and I think Kim was another? Anyone else? If there are less than a zillion of you, I think I may just get you needles and yarn on my own, to get you started. Let me know.

---I forgot to mention the interchangeable bands. I have one watch, but swap out the bands to match my tuxedo or suit. You can get the watches and bands (they also sell them as bracelets, without the watch-face) for 20% off in the Caribbean. My local source can usually get me 25% off.

If you have to take off the watch during work, it likely will not work the way it is supposed to work. It would be like being protected for 16 hours ... then targeted for the next 8 hours (perhaps, when you need it most). Your body will then need time to extract the electrons (?) from your body, once you put the watch back on.

The traditional style PS watches start at just under $600 (sans diamonds). Newer styles start at about $400 - $450 (sans diamonds). My every day watch is a PS, with diamonds around the case. My DW wears a smaller, Rose Gold PS watch to work ... replaces the watch with a round face PS with scattered diamonds. When she goes to bed, she wears the larger, traditional style, with Mother of Pearl. The larger the watch, the larger the inner workings, which typically yields better power to attach the electrons.

Lightweight unwrinkeable shirts? Where?

---Macy's! I am not a normal Macy's shopper, but passed a whole rack of them the other day.

Does anyone have any idea what the price is for the Rainforest pass? I know we got it on the PC but honestly can't remember what it cost?

--- $15 for a daily pass

I am a FULL SEASON METS ticket holder... As far as my feelings on the Phillies? This is a family board... enough said... :lmao:

--- Okay, so we're getting METS stuff! :rotfl:

Ambien helps me

--- Understood, but there is a difference between taking OTC drugs, and blocking the electrons from attacking your body in the first place.

Yes, Dee count me in, I don't want to make this hard for you though, I am willing to do whichever is easiest for you concerning materials. I expect to be a failure to be truthfu although hoping otherwisel. I am not the crafty type but it always sounds so relaxing and a great way to keep my hands from continually putting food into my mouth:laughing:

I pruchased some really cool looking scarfs at a fundraiser/benefit around Christmas time tho and really love them and the attention they get! I wear mainly black colored clothing year round so it is a great way to add some color and pop.

And best of all? One size generally fits all! :rotfl: yeah, so now you see my true colors. . .errr size .... errr motivation?!

Finally read through all the Excursions listed over on DCL site. Now I am off to make comparisons for DIY touring and site seeing. It all looks so wonderful and no way to fit it all in! Guess we will just have to visit again. . .

Anyone looking to add a couple onto their private tours or excursions to help reduce and spread the cost? I'm thinking there is a place to look for that??

Better go read that private webpage and the first few pages here again.

Love to hear what others are doing. I'm thinking I might send the DH down on a taboggan, but no way am I brave enough! :rotfl:

The DH and I both love architechure/design details/etc. though, so must make time for that in each place.

I'm thinking about booking a private tour in gibralter instead of the dcl trip, especially if it will save some $$.
Most of the other excursions we booked are long ones and I want to make sure the boat doesn't leave without us!

We once took almost 2 hours late on a ship tour in Costa Rica. Thank goodness the ship was waiting for us at the port. Only the tides had risen so the gangplank was prohibitively steep. They had crewmembers standing on every part of the gangplank grabbing our hands as we CLIMBED back on the ship while everyone applauded from the decks. I'll never forget it!

Thanks for looking up this info. Guess it's a good thing we have it booked with DCL. Will stick with the original plan. My kids can entertain your kids on the DCL bus. :)

Are you signed up for the DCL Seville on Your Own excursion? We need to reconsider if we'll still head out to Seville or stay around Cadiz. If we do go, then it'll be 5 princesses to entertain on the bus!

We are scheduled for the DCL "Seville on your Own" excursion too. We opted to stay with the DCL group for now, largely because Disney will hold the boat, even if it's scheduled to leave at 10:30pm. Seville is about an hour and a half drive away from Cadiz.

The current train schedules are not very regular, and train strikes are not uncommon in Spain/Europe (this happened to us in Italy a few years ago). We would hate to pay for a taxi ride all the way back to Cadiz.
:sad2: VIDEO: We don't want to be this guy.

PrincessMonkey

Thanks for your personal experience feedback on the trains. Yeah, I definitely don't want to miss the boat.

I believe that's because the ALVIA (high speed) trains go on sale earlier as reservations are compulsory. There's several "slow trains" (the ones that run about once an hour, and take about 2 hours each way) that aren't on the schedule yet. There's no real big rush to purchase train tickets except around holidays, so just wait a few weeks for the schedule to show the day we're there.

-Steve

Ok, good to know. Thank you. Still mulling our Cadiz/Seville plans for the time being....

This is all we plan on doing in Madeira.

The reviews are mixed. People either loved it or hated it. It is 25 Euros for 2 people and a little more for 3. Yes 2A and 1C can ride together.

We will take the cable car up and the tobaggans down.

This is our plan for Madeira too.

We were booked with the private tour company but decided all we really want to do is the toboggan and cable car.

Anyone looking to add a couple onto their private tours or excursions to help reduce and spread the cost? I'm thinking there is a place to look for that??

There are 6 of us splitting a cab in Gibraltar for a tour on our own. I started out organizing it and I think the cabs carry a max of 8 people, so if you guys want to join us you'll complete our merry band. If you have mobility issues, there is another group doing the same thing at a different pace, but I forget who's organizing that one. Let me know if you need the other group's organizer and I'm sure I can dig it up. It might even be my buddy Linda :)

PM me :thumbsup2

I'd much rather wear my travel agent hat here, but I'm putting in the Science Writer hat for a minute -- Steven, if you "extracted electrons from your body" you'd be dead. I'm just saying. :)

What I gather from the Philip Stein web site is that the watches deliver sort of a "white noise" frequency that is calming to the body and may even act as a "noise canceling" device to an extent. It's a neat idea. Too bad it's so out of my price range.
