Whoa, I need to catch up on our QOTDs! :rolleyes1

QOTD #2: What is your favorite Disney Movie?

Aladdin
and Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin

The magic carpet scene in Aladdin is iconic. Dr. Dave is a pilot/musician/artist in his free time, and one of the things he said to me before we started dating 8 years ago was, "Do you trust me?" He wanted to take me flying with him. I couldn't help but laugh, it was SO "Aladdin"...

But he had never seen Aladdin before!
We watched it together soon after. ;)

As for Beauty and the Beast, almost every scene is a masterpiece. Like Belle and the characters that live in the castle, Beauty and the Beast is easy to love.

My all-time favorite non-Disney movie is Singin' in the Rain... MGM dancer Gene Kelly was amazing.

QOTD #3: On this cruise, are you more excited about Sea Days or Port Days?

Our TA Sea Days sound the most exciting. We obviously want to spend time together indoors for our Honeymoon. Also, we have many DIS activities we want to attend in our group's mini-Navigator, and I'm really excited to meet up with all of you!

We read about Disney-related activities (e.g., animation classes, ship tours, dancing, etc.) on previous Sea Day navigators, and that's why we booked this TA for the Honeymoon. Our 2010 TA, particularly the Sea Days, will be FANTASTIC! :lovestruc

QOTD #4: Will your travel partner(s) be willing, informed participants in onboard DISboard activities?

Yes, Dr. Dave is nearly as much of a researcher as I am. He makes time to catch up on our onboard activities if not the tangential DIS conversations.

I am the only one who posts here, and Dr. Dave is a social guy. We always go to DIS events together, actively participate and have a blast!

Dr. Dave liked Disney when we were "just friends," but after spending 8 years together, he is as big of a Disney fan as I am. After countless trips with our APs, he proposed to me at Walt Disney World because he wanted those magical memories as much as he thought I did. :rotfl:

It was pretty easy to decide that that's where we would get married. Disney is our escape!!

Can I bring my own bottled water on board in a carry-on sized suitcase?

I have spend lots of time this morning scouring the message boards....I cant seem to get a consistent answer...
I have read no, yes ....maybe so LOL

I never tried before but because of the length of the cruise I'd like to bring my own if I can.

thanks

I bring as many bottles of water as will fit and not go over weight in my luggage, inside a zip lock bag, just in case. The water on board is good, I just use them for excursions. So, yes, if you have a suitcase, they don't care what's in it. My son-in-law even buys a case of beer and hands it to disney with a room tag on it with no problem, even though I think that's a no-no.

Yes-- you can carry it in as an entire case if you want-- it does not need to be consealed in a carry-on.

been gone this weekend - back now - going to go and read posts and catch up. I do have a quote for the lanyards - will post that later.

From DCL Website....

Alcohol is permitted on board. However, be aware that any fragile items (including bottled alcohol) must be hand-carried on board in a day bag and/or carry-on bag, the dimensions of which cannot exceed 22" wide, 14" high and 9" deep. Guests who request a Wine Steward to open and serve a bottle of champagne, wine or liquor that has been brought onboard will be charged a corking fee of $15.00 per bottle.

Please be advised: Disney Cruise Line reserves the right to remove fragile items (including beverages) from luggage. In such cases, items will be stored and returned at the end of the voyage. Beverage containers are considered fragile and have previously caused damage in checked luggage. All fragile items must be transported inside carry-on luggage.

Technically all alcohol is supposed to be carried on. I have seen full cases of water that are still wrapped from the store just have luggage tags placed on them and delivered to the room. I am super picky about my water...and I don't like the water onboard. We will probably bring 3 cases of water and atleast one case of beer.

Do we need dice for Bunco? Or will enough people be bringing them? I have 3 sets I can bring if needed.

I can bring some as well. They're purple though :cutie:
We'll also need a bell or buzzer, some stamps (or stamp markers) and some bunco cards. I'm open to bringing stamps or making cards...

Copied this from another thread:

"Once upon a song is just on the Magic until March 27th when Villains Tonight will start. Since they only have room for three sets and they need room for Villains Tonight, they can't really do a full out show in the interim."

Since we'll have so many sea days, do you think they do both the new show and this "interim" show?

That would be SO cool! I love shows & am really looking forward to all the great shows on DCL.

I have the bell...never played with stamps though. I was going to make the bunco the cards.

hello all -

new to this cruising board stuff and looking forward to the EB transatlantic cruise (1st time Disney cruisers). trying to read up on all the posts thus far. a few questions:

1. Sorry, but can someone please explain what does DH, DW, DD, etc. all stand for regarding travelling parties? I'm sure this is basic lingo for a lot of folks, but I'm starting at the Cruising Boards for Dummies level. Thanks!

2. AuntLynne - can I simply PM or email you the list of people in our travelling party to be added to your wonderful website? Also contact you with selection of name tags?

3. KrisAnn - likewise, too late to sign up for lanyards? Party of 4. Need any more details?

Soooo looking forward to this trip. Really need it.

Bye for now.

Also, glad to see other kids will be on the cruise....our 2 girls (7 and 5) are ready to have some fun and make new friends.

 "Peanut butter jelly time!!!"

:welcome:

DH - Darling Husband, DW - Darling Wife DD - Darling Daughter. It just helps to shorten everything!

So great to be adding two more daughters. We have 2 daughters, 4 & 8. This will be our 4th Disney Cruise. The girls just LOVE it! We did the EB TA in 2007 with Disney.

:welcome:

Four people, and four cases. That's one case per person.

Hmmm. Let me guess who the beer is for. DH?

Woody

Brooklyn - ah, thank you...so glad the "D" stands for "Darling" as for some reason I was thinking something else. Ha!

Does anyone know if there is shopping within walking distance of the pier in Port Canaveral? I'll be looking for things like bottled water, laundry sheets and wine/liquor.

Thanks!

Welcome to our new cruisers!

Eleasa

Yes...we plan on stacking them up on the verandah! DH is going to need more then one case but he thinks one is enough. I however drink a ton of bottled water. That is for 25 nights too as I know will probably not like any bottle water I could buy in Barcelona.
