Elesa, Jim & Raine -

Glad to see some other crazy folks doing the B2B.

You'll be joining me (& my niece), Stephanie & family (brooklyn), Jeanne & her gang of 7 (grlzmom), John & Charlotte (Happy Goofy) and our latest, Susan & Bill (susanowen27).

Lynne

Well, its official now! Happy to join the B2B gang.

Lynne, I love the crazy princesses. I can't wait to show my DS because he's convinced the Disney cruise will have nothing for boys, just princesses. lol!

They stopped offering the kids free on the cat 12 (some of us did get it) but the cat 12 regular price should be cheaper than a cat 11 with the kids sail free.

Glad to hear the back to back group is growing!

You are correct, the cat 12 for the 3 of us is still way cheaper than cat 11 with one child free. :thumbsup2

FE UPDATE for our newly expanded travel party! party:

Room 7580: Tricia, Dino (Dh) & Gavin (10)

Room 7582: Pat (Mom), Mike (Dad)

We will be hanging a single FE (with all of our names--being made via ebay seller as we speak) outside room 7580 so just please count us as one cabin even though we will be spread out into two.

As for lanyards, all 5 of us would like the ID with Donald Duck!

:banana::banana::banana:86 Days!!!!! Wahoo!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

We rebooked today for the military rate and went from two CAT12GTY rooms to two CAT6 balconies and are getting just a little bit back (less than 200 dollars).

Keeping the great rate we have for the MED rooms, it's way cheaper than the military rate.

So we will have to move all our stuff and luggage between cruises but oh well.

So does the fact that there is now a "milatary discount" on our cruise mean that we will see other discounts for the general public?

~Ingrid

I know this has been discussed before, but I don't feel like reading through the old thread...

Does anybody have the exact breakdown on the tipouts for the Head Server, Server, Asst. Server and Statroom Host/ Hostess for the TA?

Thanks!

OK, I HAVE to ask... Do you always call your fiance "Dr. Dave"?

No, I don't... :rotfl2:
But we say his name is "Dave" when we order pizza or book reservations at restaurants. I'll PM you the link to his blog, then it'll make sense.

He goes by his first name everywhere else.

Wow -- we're up to 20 pages already! I guess we're all excited!

Thanks for the links and discussion about Euros -- it is very helpful.

We have late dining for the three of us (me, DH & 8yo DS). We'd love to connect with other DIS-ers -- and hopefully with some that have children with whom our son will connect in the Lab/Club. We've found we enjoy larger groups because when one couple or family goes elsewhere (like Palo), we're still with other interesting people. If anyone is interested, please PM me. BTW, I heard that they are changing the kids programs to be less age-restricted/divisive. Anyone know any more about that?

I am intrigued by the idea of wearing a pocket-full vest (as in, I will FILL those pockets!). For those of you who already wear these, are there certain types/brands you like best? Ones you dislike? I usually carry a small backpack, but this might be better for me -- or at least worth a try.

I will go with whatever the majority wants on the FEs. We are just excited about participating -- and I just ordered my FE with 3 pockets for us!

-- Adrienne : )

P.S. DS is now thrilled about the trip -- all of a sudden. He's especially looking forward to room service and breakfast in bed. DH & I have been excited since we booked. <g>

My understanding is that they are more lenient on the shorter cruises. Just what I had read on the DIS though.

Just noticed we aren't on the lanyard list so please add me and my dh, Alec (CDN Prince Charming) please. My kidlets pin trade so could you add them as well please, Jacob and Jenna.

Also my mom, Carol (ariella46).

We all like the official logo.

Thanks
Gina

This sounds like a great idea. How did you find the taxi tour as for our family maybe interested in something like this. We'd appreciate any help finding something similar.

Alex

I wasn't sure if I was allowed to post names for travel companies so I PMed you;)

We have to say no to FE fun as it sounds. Flying home to Australia we have a one bag limit of 23kg or 50 pounds.:headache: I would love 5 lanyards and nametags with the logo but I will need to insist on paying for them seeings as we cant do FE.:worship:

The changes will start on the Magic this month.

Basically kids aged 3-10 will be able to pick the activities they want to do. They will not be seperated into age groups.

Some people like the changes and some do not. I am one that is not a fan. I understand that parents like it for siblings to be together. They like to have the choice. The problem I have though is that my 4 yo can't chose to NOT be with 8 yo's if 8 yo's decide to do any activity that was normally slated for younger ones. Hopefully though it all works out for everyone.

We have 3 kids that will be spending some time in the lab so probably they will meet your son as we are on late dining too (dd8, dd7 and ds7). Our ds is 7 but has been in the lab since before he was 6.

The last few cruises we took in 2009 on the Magic they were very accomodating and flexible with what the kids participated in although no official change had been made in programming. When my kids wanted to go do something else or stay and not follow the Lab group somewhere else, they were banded with a color wrist band to indicate which kids group they stayed with. I imagine this cruise won't be a very large school age group so it should make for a great experience for all of them.

When we cruised last month and they were doing a little bit of this unofficially they had a counselor with the younger kids and a counselor with the older kids doing the same activity (in the lab anyway). Perhaps that's how they will handle it?

Was this for the Gibraltar tour info? If so, I'd also love a PM. TIA

Also, does anyone know the Hertz code for the location near Country Suites in Port Canaveral.

It was Madeira.

When I was looking at Gibraltar companies they all seem to use an itinery determined by the tourism board for an official tour

"Taking 'The Official Rock Tour' is the best way to visit some of Gibraltar's most interesting sites. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes so at each stop you will have plenty of time to look around. Simply ask one of our official taxi or coach guides to take you and your party on 'The Rock Tour' - or you can arrange with him or her an individual tour of your choice. " From the Official Gibraltar site

I actually like one of the ship tours so I am thinking we will book with the ship for this one.

For Hertz I dont think they have codes but it is
8963 Astronaut Blvd HLE
Cape Canaveral, Florida,
United States
Phone: 321-783-7771
Hours of Operation: Mo-Fr 0730-1800, Sa-Su 0800-1600

I used zip code of 32920 to find it.

Part of the fun of travel for me is just the anticipation & planning of the trip. So, I thought I'd post a few photos of Barcelona for anyone who's interested. We were there in April 2008, but I assume it still looks the same ;)

So does the fact that there is now a "milatary discount" on our cruise mean that we will see other discounts for the general public?

~Ingrid

Hi Ingrid!
From what I noticed on the last TA in 2007, the public discounts that came out were the category 12 room rates. They actually offered those to everybody this year quite a bit before they did it last time....maybe slow economy and slow sailing. From how things went before, that will be as cheap as they will go. In 2007, none of the other categories were discounted, just the release of the cat 12 rates.

I hope this helps, Disney always surprises me, so I never say never with them.
