If you want to plan your own day in Europe and are unfamiliar with the area, I too recommend trying to find a current Rick Steves' book to get you started. It may not have all of the specific excursion information you need, but you get a full overview of the sights to see and how to see them efficiently.

Another Rick Steves fan! His books are the best logistical guides for touring an area...he's a little dorky and opinionated IMO, but if you want to know train fares, schedules, museum hours, etc, he's the best.

Also, I was totally kidding about giving out lime green lanyards as a wedding favor....maybe that was lost in translation

Got the quote back from my TA for the med cruise. Not quite as good as I'd hoped (missed the fine print of kids sail free cat 4-11 and we are cat 12) but still an awesome deal. Thought DH would be a tough sell but he is of the opinion, we're already there, air is already paid for, etc etc......."lets do it!"

So, first thing tomorrow morning Im booking the med cruise!

They stopped offering the kids free on the cat 12 (some of us did get it) but the cat 12 regular price should be cheaper than a cat 11 with the kids sail free.

Glad to hear the back to back group is growing!

This sounds amazing Kristi. Our group maybe very interested in this tour (21/2 tour). We are 4 to 11 people possibly. I checked out the website, but didn't see any costs or exact details of each tour. Did you have to request it?

If you click on the "booking" link, it is simply a form to request information. It is sent as an email. They got back to me fairly quickly this way.

So Dishy24 and I have been checking DCL everyday for the military discounts to come out. Well today that came out!!!!

I was able to change our 2 CAT 12's to 2 CAT 5's and only had to pay $550 total!!! Then on the Med we upgraded one of our two 12's to a CAT 5 for $175. We are keeping the other 12 on the Med bc we got too good of a deal at $2200 for 4 of us! The girls will be with grandma anyway for both cruises so it will just be Craig and I left up to the Disney gods!

So grandma and the girls are in 7082 for the TA and the Med and Craig and I are in 7080 for the TA and CAT 12 GTY for the Med.

Ok to look up stateroom reports for these rooms. DH and I have never had an outside room let alone a verandah. So excited!!!

Cadiz - Seville Train:

Renfe.es is a good start, I'd normally recommend the Deutsche Bahn website for looking at scheduling, but they don't show as many of the "local" trains. You're looking at about a Eur 12,50 price each way for ticket, and they run about every hour or so for the 2 hour ride each way.

Euros:
The exchange rate isn't set up by the government. There's a whole lot of factors, a lot of it is just the economy and perceived trade value, without getting into a whole big boring post. What's it worth to trade one currency into another is basically the question.

Now, that's just icing on the cake.

And now you know what you'll be doing with your luggage between cruises - leaving it onboard. That gives you time to do a little more Barcelona exploring.

...Those smoke stacks on thossink's logo are great - it used to look like Stitch had been allowed to play with the design.
