OK, reading and basically studying the boards, I have come to the conclusion that yes, my 3yo is going to do an autograph book. I wasn't sure with her age, but after some of you other parents have said that the 3yo's get into the autographs, I decided for sure. DS said they could do it together.

Now, she has never been exposed really to the princess or "pretty frilly" things. We aren't doing the BBB, but are eating in the castle. She has never watched the movies because she doesn't have type of attention span for that yet. She knows the princess if you ask who they are, she just calls them all princess. I have some custom dresses, just real simple ones, but no "princesses" dresses.
I"m thinking here, that if she starts to see other girls, is she gonna think she needs one too?? And Lord know I don't want to pay $65.00 if I can get one here for $20!!

Any insight how it went for you girls??

HI, we are leaving this Saturday and I also have a 3 yo DD. My DS is 8. Anyway, DD also has not seen any princess movies, either, but knows a few of their names and calls herself a princess, lol. I was not planning on buying a dress here or there. She doesn't usually ask for what others have, just observes and comments on what she sees. BBB is expensive, and not worth it at this age anyway. I was planning on seeing which princess caught her eye the most while we were there, and then I was going to surpsise her when we got back with that costume for Halloween. Not sure when you are going, but that might be a money-saver for you. Great deals on eBay...

My DD's at 3 wouldn't have thought to ask for a costume just because other girls were wearing one. We went to Disney on Ice last Oct so my DD's would ahve been 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 at the time. I didn't even think to put them in costumes they just wore normal clothes. About 1/3 of the girls there had on some sort of princess costume and neither of my DD's said anything about it.

My daughter is quite the opposite, she would thinks that in order to go to WDW you must be a princess. When every CM refers to little girls as princesses, she started to believe that she was real princess! Dummy me, I forgot her princess dresses at home and ended up paying $65 for the Snow White. But I think she got her wear out of it she insisted on wearing the entire week of our vacation.

We did do the BBB the middle package for $50, it was worth every penny to see that grin her face!

Every little girl is different, even at 3 my DD now 5 has always loved to dress up, jewelry, and make up.

If you get there and she wants to get a dress, go to one of the Disney outlets (there are a couple there). I believe the dresses there were about 1/2 price... or you can go to Walmart or Target where there are also dresses.

My DD was 2 1/2 when we traveled and she refused to wear her princess dress to the parks. However, I could see her getting into it more now. They change so quickly!

IMHO, if she is none the wiser now, then I don't think she is really going to be paying attention to everyone else around her... Sure she might want a princess dress and all the princess stuff once she walks into a gift store, (keep her out of world of Disney if that is really what you are worried about~lol) But the experience itself and just being in the castle will be soo exciting for her.. Have fun~!
