After cancelling two previous trips (One last year and one this year) i've gone for 3rd time Lucky for next April

I know i'm onto a winner here as i'm taking my two grandaughters with me and i know they won't back out and let me down

The only bug part is who to go with

I've had a qoute of just under £4k from Travel city direct for 4 Adults and 2 Children for a place that is ideal for us ( http://www.floridaysresortorlando.com/ ) on International Drive

Or for about £500 extra i can stay at the same place but fly with Virgin

I'll only be flying econmy class so should i do TCD or Virgin

What think you?

Also will i be getting nice weather the last 2 weeks in April

Good luck planning your next trip.
I've flown with TCD with no problems, I fly with Virgin tomorrow for the 1st time so I can't compare yet. Personally I would go with TCD just on the price because I would prefer to spend the extra £500 when I get there. Just looked at the Floridays website looks nice :thumbsup2
April is usually a nice month to travel weather wise.
Happy planning :)

In my opinion, the only advantage Virgin have currently over TCD is the seat back TV's but as our saving was £800 we decided seat back TVs were not worth that much! (actually 'saving' worked out slightly less than £800 as I treated Kids to new PSP games!). The service, food, drinks etc were all comparable. I don't think TCD do 'kids' bags-but again you could do your own if grandchildren are young. TCD fly into Sandford not Orlando which adds aprox 30 mins travel time to hotels, but we didn't find that an issue as you get through Sandford airport a lot quicker than Orlando (Sandford a lot smaller)

By 2009 TCD will have seat back TV's, so I'd rather save £500 personally.

Hope you have a fantastic holiday-weather in April will be great (might have heavy-but quick showers in the afternoon-doesn't really interupt your plans much).

Excellent news+happy planning.Let's hope you have better luck with this one.
I am biased with my opinion as i only fly Virgin(so i get good discounts+freebies as well:thumbsup2 )-but i would probably pay the extra £500 and go with them.Due to the fact(with 2 young children)they have a seat back tv,kids goody bag when they board, flying into MCO.
I know someone who has flown with both+they said never again to TCD because of the leg room-apparantly it feels more cramped than Virgin :confused3 .
£500 is alot of money-whoever you fly with-i am sure your holiday will be perfect.x.

I haven't used TCD but IMO Virgin aren't worth £500 extra for economy seats. We flew with them and had no problems but I didn't feel the flight was significantly better than the two i've taken with MyTravel (only other airline i've flown to Orlando with) I wouldn't hesitate to go with another airline next time if I felt it was a better deal :)

Save the money fly with TCD its only 9hrs & for £500 saving its an expensive seat back tv & goody bag for kids. My brother has travelled twice with TCD and both times they have had seat back tvs !!! And the goody bag excitment only lasts 5 mins.

All booked, Well the depsiot payed so that's just as good as booked

Time to start saving and hope Everton get knocked out of Europe early on, Their run last year cost me more than what i'm paying to go to Disney

And i can't beliver i've been on this site for 8 years last month, You can tell i'm a Lurker with the ammount of posts i've posted up

Let's see if i can get it to 50 before next April

Excellent news-such a great feeling when you finally book it-is'nt it :cool1: .Did you go with TCD? Where are you staying?(at the Floriday's).x.

Just a thought about seatback TVs: You can get portable DVD players quite cheaply nowadays so if you don't own one it may be something to consider for any children in the party if they get bored easily. Also, I believe there are communal screens on most planes that don't have the seatback ones anyway :)

If your flying from Manchester, seat back t.vs are hit and miss :rolleyes1
Glad you have booked :thumbsup2
I've flown Virgin 4 times now,but looking for next year we have agreed to look at other companies, and TCD are at the top of my list,so for a £500 saving,I would of also picked TCD.:thumbsup2

have never flown with either however we are going with TCD in december as it was roughly £1200-1400 cheaper than virgin - no choice really!!!

Have a great holiday :dance3:

I did and i did

I asked last week if anyone knew of Villas walking distance of International Drive, I think i've found the 2nd best thing with the Floridays

Somthing to look foward to now and i'll have my eldest Grandaughter watching videos of her Mum in Disney as a 12 year old now everytime she stays :rotfl2:

Tony would love to see some pics of the room+resort when you return, and your god+bad points about it,would be much appreciated.x.
