3D or not 3D? That is the question.

We just saw it Friday in 3D and I was very disappointed.
Other than added "depth", there were no specific 3D effects.
IMO, it's not necessary to see Toy Story 3 in 3D.

There are no 3D effects in most 3D movies these days - that isn't the point. They are not like Mikey's Philharmagic with things flying out into the audience - the 3D is used exclusively for depth, not for things to jump out at you. (With few exceptions limited mainly to children's or horror movies.) I like the added depth, personally.

Just saw it in 3D a few hours ago. It really did add to the movie. It was actually quite nice not to have 'stuff' flying at me all the time..just because they could. That was my complaint with A Christmas Carol last year...a lot of gratuitous 3D effects..just because they could. And for me, it takes away from the story.
I actually forgot I was wearing the glasses...that's a first for me.
Loved it, loved it, loved it.

When a bunch of us DIS'ers went to see it this past weekend in IMAX 3D it was kind of amusing to see that most of us remained seated throughout the whole end-credit roll. We knew there would be out-takes.

Just got home from seeing it in 2d and loved it. DD16 saw it in 3d and said not much difference other than double the price for 3d. It is a cute movie,warning if you are sappy like me you'll cry in part of it!!!! But laughed alot too.

We went Sunday saw it in 3D, nothing special. My opinion 2D would have been just fine.

We chose to see it in 2d for two reasons. First, my 18 month old loves Buzz and Woody and would never keep on the 3d glasses and second because of the price.

We LOVED the movie and didn't feel like we were missing anything by seeing it in 2d. I highly recommend going in 2d especially if the price is too much as it was for us!
