3D Movies

I am curious as to why Disney does not release some of its movies in the 3D version in the United States when it releases them in overseas markets. One month, the 3D version of Frozen was listed in the Disney Movie Club. I ordered it and when I received the disk, it was the regular blu-ray edition; there was a letter with the disk that said it was not available in the US. I called the Disney Movie Club as I had been charged for the 3D version, and they told me it had not been released here yet and they were not sure if it would ever be. One can find it available through E-Bay and Amazon in overseas markets such as England, Spain, France, Japan, etc. Just curious as to why they don't always release the 3D movies in the US.

the rumor is that a special edition of Frozen will be released with a 3D version for the holidays. That way we can buy the same movie twice! Isn't that great?

I usually buy the packs that include the 3d and the only one I can think of that did not include 3d was Oz. In that case, they had a flyer in the box where you could buy a 3d copy for $10 or something. I think the frozen thing is just a money grab.
