3D for those that can't see in 3D

For three very different reasons, neither Princess 6, DH or I can see in 3D (traditional red and purple, none of use have tried polarising 3D glasses.)

For anyone that can't see in 3D, how did you go? From the reviews and degree of scaryness we won't be doing "tough to be a bug." But hopefully TSMM will be ok.

The 3d effect from the polarized glasses is, I'd say, 10 times more effective than the old school red and blue glasses. Even if you watch Its tough to be a bug without the glasses it will still be a great experience because it is mor than 3d. Its more like 4d with all the sensory games they play on you. I won't elaborate any more else I'd spoil some of the great surprises you are in for. . Its not that scary. I took my DD when she was 2 and she had a great time. Why don't you or your spouse go watch the show when you are there and judge then wether or not you think your 6 year old could handle it.

I have amblyopia, strabismus and astigmatism and I can't see "traditional" 3D images, magic eye type picture and the like.

I have been able to see polarized 3D like IMAX films, the Hannah Montana's concert movie and Hershey's Really Big 3D Show. At DL we saw Honey I Shrunk the Audience and I was able to see that as well. I try to sit in the center of a row to see it the best otherwise I tend lose some of the 3D and see "ghost" images a bit more.

My only complaint is that sometime the 3D glasses don't fit great over my regular glasses. It's usually find at the temple part, it's the nose area that tends to wind up sitting too low. I can still see the 3D but sometimes I have to adjust the 3D glasses or hold them up some. The show are short so holding them isn't bad but it would be nice if they were more like the sunglasses that fit over glasses.

We're going to WDW next month and I can let you know if I was able to see TSMM in 3D.

DD has strambismus and switches between eyes using only one at a time, myself astigmatism and amblyopia, and DH has keratoconus in one eye.

I'm glad that they are the polarising type. I knew that the red and purple would be a complete waste of time for the three of us, and hopefully, even if unable to see fully 3D at least be able to see.

I've been reading this thread with interest since both my twin daughters have strabismus, and one has amblyopia as well. I've always wondered how well they could see the 3-D movies when we went to WDW. They were both so young when they were diagnosed with the stramismus (one was 3, the other only 20 months) that I don't think they even know what the 3-D movies should really look like.

It's good to know they can at least see SOMETHING when we go to WDW or DLR!

I thought I was the only one who couldn't see in 3-D. Haven't been diagnosed with anything - and yes, I do go to the optometrist one a year. I've never been able to see the 3-D image. I do have astigmatism, maybe that is it. I still really like to go to the shows. A Bug's Life and the Muppet's Show are my favorites. Still a really fun experience even without the effects. It's fun to watch others as they try to reach out to touch the images.

I hate Disney's 3D shows.

They're great, but I have depth perception issues, and have to wear glasses. I dunno if the depth perception is what causes the problems, but if I don't wear the 3D glasses over my glasses, they don't work, and if I do, I have to constantly shift and squint in the hope of occasionally glimpsing true 3D. They all just give me headaches.

Still, they're a whole lot of fun. It's Tough to Be a Bug is awesome. You must do it.

my husband has isses with pretty much anything 3D.. he doesn't see it as 3D, just 2D. he still has fun though..

we're hoping he can still play TSMM well..

I'm glad I read this thread. I have great difficulty with 3D and depth perception tests, and also the hidden image pictures. I also have bad astigmatism, now I know I'm not the only one who can't see these things. Thanks!!!
