39 and 3/4 inches??

You want another tip? Go in the morning to the rides in question. If you are walking all day your spine will compress about 1/2-1 1/4 inches or so every day. So you are actually taller in the morning then you are at night.

I think that it depends on the CM. Curly hair can get you a little farther. Personally, I am not sure that a quarter of an inch will actually make much of a difference on the ride itself. Disney doesn't want to get in trouble because they let someone who shouldn't ride. I am not too familiar with their strictness now, however, as we have not had to deal with the issue for many years.

Really? I've never heard this.

My DD barely and I mean barely made it for Space Mountain and the CM let her on. I look back now and think to myself, "what was I thinking. I should have kept her back." The height restrictions are for safety. I know we as parents, really want our kids to go on these rides, but don't risk taking your child on something they aren't big enough for. It's just not worth it :sad2:

I think it really does depend on the CM. We were at Goofy's Barnstormer in March 2006 and my 2 year old niece ran up to be measured while we were waiting to put her sister on the ride. Now, she was clearly about an inch too short and we had no intention of even trying to get her on the ride ... but the CM said "wellllll ... she's almost close enough". It was our impression that he was about to say that she could ride, but an older CM appeared and said "she's too short!"

My DSiL and I have wondered how strict the height requirements are for Goofy's since then.

Oh, wanted to add something, just an observation really. Not saying you would. . .. but. . . .
If a CM ever turns your kid away for being too short. . . just don't argue with them. . . . they are really only doing their job and didn't make the rules. And I have seen WAY too many irrate parents yelling at CMs for turning away kids that are clearly too short, it looks pathetic and sad.

Though there is admittedly a difference between what I am talking about and what a previous poster's experience was though. Why in the world did the CM feel a need to manhandle the poor kid!? Jeez.

Yes its true, the padding between the vertebrae are each compressed a little bit throughout the day, and they add up, not by much but they add up.
