CRT or Dessert Party?

I'd keep watching for a CRT opening at breakfast or lunch. Then snack in the afternoon and do the fireworks party. You can't do both as you have it right now.

I would choose the dessert party as I really don't want to have to stand packed in waiting for the fireworks. CRT is nice but not something that I felt the need to do after my girls got older.

We did both this trip and I thought the dessert party was better. Maybe if the princesses came back around. But for the view alone, I liked the dessert party.

I am in the minority but I am not a fan of dessert parties. A lot of money for a decent spot to watch the fireworks and have dessert. I would rather spend the money on an ice cream sundae on Main Street and to watch the fireworks from there.

Do you have another MK day where you can watch fireworks by lining up an hour and half before? Then I would do CRT (food quality has significantly improved) and character interaction is coming back soon. The 50th flight was great but we did end up cancelling the lost slipper dessert (need to order in advance); Dinner did take 2 hours.

Only lost slipper is being offered at CRT:

If you have no other day to watch fireworks then dessert party would be better.

Here is more info on the view and space a few mins before fireworks

You can ride a few rides after fireworks for the after dessert party (lasts 9-10 pm; for 9 pm fireworks)

For my upcomig Birthday trip - I managed to snag both CRT during the fireworks as well as a MK dessert party. I can't do both since they are around the same time.
Which would you choose? :cake:princess: *I have done both within the past year so either option sounds good to me. Tough to decide. Thanks!
CRT hands down. Decent food and you're IN the castle. We did it years ago and it was the highlight of our trip.

I got the CRT reservation just 2 weeks prior to our trip (spring 2022). We had BOG booked.

Historically at CRT they wouldn’t accommodate for allergies much and just keep taking things off the plate for our son who has milk/egg allergies (like Space220). This time they were able to customize a meal when I submitted the special diet form right after booking (spaghetti with grilled chicken and marinara; Erin McKenna’s desserts can be added with advance notice for an extra charge). I was pro BOG+Steakhouse71; now it’s CRT+BOG. The portion size and food quality was just excellent (we packed desserts to go as it was an almost 2 hour dinner, but left stuffed (no need for bread service).

Our reservation was at 9:25 and there was no photopass photographer (only a CM who took excellent photos with our phone) and no wishing ceremony/waving by Cinderella but it was still worth it.

This review and the crowds levels helped us decide.

I also saw a review by Paging Mr Morrow (can’t find that video where he sits on a bench at the end of Main Street for a bit) and the people on the sides of Main Street (toward the end) had a really bad obstructed view and could barely see anything (even the kids on shoulders)

At 30 mins into the video below you can see how crowded the hub area is, but if you’re with the right crowd (like Nate is) it could be a lot of fun as well and you can split and go bring drinks/treats. You can always turn back to look at the Main Street projections.

Restaurants with views (not recommended; Casey’s corner tables are packed hours before and view is obstructed)
