ETA: Nevermind! After doing more research I learned I do not need a softener.

We want to get a water softener for our house. We have very hard water and baseboard heating, so we're concerned about the mineral buildup in the pipes.
I have no idea where to start to determine which size/system would be the best for us! If anyone can help, I'd be eternally grateful.
We have a 2500 sq ft house, 3.5 bathrooms, and baseboard heat.

Thank you!!

We used to have a water softener in a home where we previously lived, but it was installed by the builder. Might ask your neighbors what company they used so you know it is someone reputable. I am sure companies that install softeners can easily do the calculations to advise how large of a system you would need.

The previous owner already had it set up, but the actual machine wasn't in place when they sold the house. Does that make sense? The hookups are in place, but not with the machine itself. I just want to buy the machine, but wasn't sure what size I would need. I'll do some more research. Thanks!
