my dad passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. I never got to say goodbye. I was 8 years old. I kissed him goodnight, went to bed and he died in his sleep during the night.

Please make sure you tell a loved one what they mean to you today. It is important that you say the words....I Love You. Don't forget to say them to your parents, your kids, your dh, dw or dpartner.

So sad! And right before Christmas. My son has two friends who lost parents this year. I keep thinking about them, wondering how they're making it through the Christmas season.

I know what you mean my mom had a brain aneurysm burst during the night when I was 12. Though she didn't die in her sleep she was not ever coherent. She slipped into a coma and died a few days later; that was almost 26 years ago.

So sad! And right before Christmas. My son has two friends who lost parents this year. I keep thinking about them, wondering how they're making it through the Christmas season.

It is difficult to lose a loved one at anytime of the year but I think it seems worse at the holidays. I'm an adult now but I still feel so sad at Christmas. I throw myself into it as a way of distracting myself but the sadness is always there. My mom did a great job raising us and always made the holidays special. I don't know how she did it. My parents were amazing people.

OH, hugs to you and your family. I have lost both of my parents but we were blessed that while they did not suffer with each of them we had some time to say goodbye. I hope you find peace.

I lost my two remaining grandparents within the last two weeks. I did have time to say my good byes, and neither suffered greatly. I think because I knew both of those things, I was able to handle the grief better.

How very sad . So sorry about the loss of your dear Dad so young. This is our 3rd Christmas without my dear Dad and we miss him, specially during the holidays. It does help to know he is resting in peace in God's care.

Thanks for the reminder sweetie. I try to remember to count my many blessings daily, as sometimes I take much for granted . I believe life is too short to harbor ill feelings. We should live it to the fullest with those we love making special memories to carry in our hearts forever.

My stepdad passed away Sept 6, so this is the first Christmas without him in 17 or 18 years.
