Update: We booked the package! Would love to hear from others with experience as to how everything worked regarding the early booking window for onboard activities and how you picked your ceremony date/time relative to the itinerary. We are on a 5-night with a day at sea, Lookout Point, Nassau, and Castaway Cay. I’m thinking we’d like to have the ceremony on the first day, our day at sea.

……..

We are cruising for our 35th anniversary in May 2025, and we want to book a vow renewal. I have submitted a request for info to Disney Fairytale Weddings and am waiting to hear back, and I am aware of the $4000 package minimum. It’s a lot of $$ for our small family group of 4, but my husband and I were almost killed in a car accident earlier this year and I need a big splurge.

Does anyone know how likely it is that we can still book this? Any tips/advice? I am thinking we would use the Deck 10 aft deck, which is one of the offered venues.

Congratulations on your 35th anniversary! My husband and I renewed our vows on Castaway Cay in February (sailed on the Wish). I booked my cruise and the cast member also booked my ceremony at the same time, then about a week later the onshore wedding coordinator (Faith) contacted me and sent me the paperwork. I'm happy to answer any questions I can but your best source of information will be the wedding coordinator once you've booked your trip.

Thank you, and congrats to you as well!

We booked the cruise last December so that part’s good. I received the form and selections from our wedding planner, Stephanie, earlier this week.

I know the exact day and time won’t be confirmed until closer to sailing. Were you able to get your preferred day and time? And how did you handle booking excursions and such if the ceremony time was not confirmed when your booking window opened?

Congratulations! From interviewing Disney Cruise wedding and vow renewal couples on the Disney Wedding Podcast over the years, I know that—if you are using the onboard photographer for your event—the earlier you have your ceremony in the cruise, the more time you'll have to look through your photos and decide which you want printed (if any) before the end of the cruise. (However, if photo style is important to you, I would recommend bringing your own photographer—you'll get more images and can ensure they're the style and quality you want).

Another consideration I've heard mentioned is that, if you do your ceremony on a sea day, there are more people around the ship and thus in the background of your photos. Lots of couples like to have their ceremonies on a Castaway Cay day because the ship is emptier, and then (if they brought their own photographer) they can go get photos around the island and with the characters in their formalwear.

Since we had our ceremony on Castaway, our only choice was early or late and we chose the early time since I didn't want it to get too hot outside. Also, because it was Castaway day, it took up most of the day for us anyways, with the 10am ceremony and 11am champagne/cake. After that people either went to the pool or to the island for the afternoon.

I highly recommend you listen to the Disney Wedding Podcast (above). I listened to every episode that was on DCL (and even some that were not). It will help you immensely.
