331 day mark for Presidents' Day - Anyone else get their tix already?

thanks for the update.
Unfortunately they are still high for my dates and airports.
still hoping.

lotsofkids,
As PURTYPAT1 just said there are some reasonable fares out there. We use the orbitz and travelocity sites to shop around and then buy directly from the airline when we find a good price. So try looking there first. In fact there are some decent prices from Hartford this morning (on United I think.)

We were trying Delta and Song so early, because we have the most FF miles through them.

Good luck.

I am also try8ing to score 4 ff tickets from coast to coast on the 18th. I was on the phone with a Delta rep just after midnight on the 23rd. The computer and the rep were disagreeing about the 331st day. Unfortunately I listened to the rep and planned to call back the next day. You guessed it! I went online in the afternoon and there were no seats for the 18th available. I was BUMMED. I have planned the vacation around being able to use the ff miles. Well to make a long story shorter. I did get tix for the red eye on the 17th going into Melbourne (48 miles from Orlando) I am waitlisted for a flight into Orlando.
The most interesting thing I was told last night was that Delta had not released any ff seats yet. It wasn't that they were already taken. Since this is such a popular destination Delta doesn't always release seats at 331 days, so you need to keep checking. The rep can tell you if they have already issued any seats.
So I am waiting (impatiently) to see if any seats open up to Orlando. I would rather book the seats now than play a waiting game for months. The good news is I can get within 48 miles.

Good information to know. If you are waitlisted with Delta to use FF miles to fly into Orlando instead of Melbourne do you need to call everyday and check on the status? Will Delta change your FF tickets without any penalty charges? This is all new to me. I want to know what I will be facing in another month with Delta and using my FF miles.

I am confirmed to Melbourne and they will hold that reservation for 14 days before I have to make a decision. After 14 days I either have to let the hold go or have them ticket it. If one of the spots for Orlando open up they are supposed to call me, but I had one Delta rep tell me to call every day to check. Another rep told me not to call every day, however given the fact that I got incorrect information from a rep I think I will call every day.
The good thing about the FF miles is that you do have 14 days to decide before they actually take your miles. And you can be waitlisted on several flights and hold a confirmed reservation at the same time, which gives you lots of options. However, once they take your miles and ticket you it will cost you $50 (per person I think) to change anything.
So now I sit with my fingers crossed and call everyday hoping I get the Orlando flight. But I do have Melbourne with is only 48 miles away, much better than 3000 miles.
Now the whole things starts again on Wednesday for the return trip.
Wish me luck !!!

Good Luck and here's a bit of pixie dust! :wizard:

I did not know about the 14 day hold. I guess that is how people work the 331 day mark! Obviously, doing a FF ticket on the internet is impossible at the 331 day mark because there is no 14 day hold option. I guess calling Delta directly will be the only way to get 3 tickets for Spring Break next year. What nu,ber do you use to call? Delta's normal 800 number or the special skymiles number? We want to go to Hilton Head and there are a few airports around that area. I will hope the tickets won't be too difficult to get. I do want to use my Skysaver miles and not Skychoice because I could get free airfare for next summer as well. We each have enough for 2 tickets and DH has enough for 4 tickets. Hopefully, if I play my cards right we will be able to fly free for most of next year. :cloud9:

We just got our flights for this week as well. We got VERY reasonable RT on Delta for $176. They are not direct flights, but due to buget issues we had to get as low as possible. So I am excited.
thanks to everyone for their advice.

excellent work. I am trying to get a flight from PBI/FLL/MIA and everything is a little steep , but I am sure I will find something, since I have my ticket to Florida I do need to get back home :goodvibes .

Can I ask what days you are flying and from and to what airport?

I tried at 12:00am and had no luck on the internet.

Thank you.

maminnie,
We tried last night at midnight also, and there was nothing. This morning at 7:30 is when we purchased.
It is BOS to MCO via delta web site. Leaving Friday the 17 evening and returning Sat the 25 evening. We have teenagers so late flights are better than early morning ones. The connection is through Atlanta, not direct.
Prices from other airports were higher.

Good luck
