325 minutes posted for Frozen???

Hmm, maybe 4 sets of A&E would help? Hard to blame WDW if they doubled capacity and SB hasn't changed I guess.

I suspect if they opened Norway back up (in addition to MK)-it would also have 300 minute waits-even with no FP+, same as before.

Disney Creative Entertainment is seeking male and female performers with engaging personalities to portray Disney Character Look-alikes at the Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando, FL.

New hire performers now receive $12.85 per hour when performing in Character look-alike roles. Performers develop improvisational skills, poise and grace while working for one of the world's leading entertainment companies. Character Look-alikes perform before thousands of guests each day in “meet and greets”, parades and stage shows across the Walt Disney World Resort.
Please note: all performers, including Disney Character Look-alikes, will also perform in meet-and-greets as fully costumed Disney Characters in our Parks and Resorts. This includes wearing large body costumes, heads, and feet, and exposure to hot and humid weather.

Seeking the following roles:
Anna & Elsa - Females, 5'3" - 5'7"
Merida - Females, 5'4" - 5'6"
Alice in Wonderland - Females, 5'2" - 5'4"
Prince Phillip, Flynn Rider - Males, 5'10" - 6' with an athletic build

Visible tattoos are not allowed for any look-alike role. This includes ankles, wrists, arms, neckline, shoulder, in addition to any other visible tattoo. Unfortunately, tattoos covered with makeup are not allowed.

Sign-in: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Late applicants will not be allowed to audition. There is no need to arrive any earlier than 3:00 PM

Requirements:
Performers must be at least 18 and authorized to work in the United States.

Some performers may learn a small movement routine. Selected performers will learn an improv animation exercise. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes. No sandals or flip-flops

Seeking performers to begin work within the next six months.

Current Disney College Program and International Program Cast Members are not eligible to audition.

Current WDW Character Performers are not eligible to audition.

Open to the general public.

Visible tattoos are not allowed for any look-alike role. This includes ankles, wrists, arms, neckline, shoulder, in addition to any other visible tattoo. Unfortunately, tattoos covered with makeup are not allowed.

That may be the biggest limiter these days.

MK opened for EMH at 8am yesterday... by 8:30 they had a wait time of 300 minutes!!!!!!!! Offsite guests weren't even in the park yet. Crazy!

I caught the announcement on a message board and scored one of the earliest FP+ on their first day in MK (Easter Sunday). It was awesome. No one at the parks seemed to know they were there (even some CMs were telling people they were in Epcot that day still). I guess word spread to the non Disney obsessed quick. Those wait times just sound so painful, I don't know how I would remember anything from the trip but that wait.

I hadn't even thought about that limitation, but I agree that might be a real issue these days!

This crazy Frozen phenomenon makes me thankful we have a boy who is only mildly interested in it. He enjoys the movie and the soundtrack, but we are not shelling out a ton of money for an Elsa dress or worrying about how we are going to meet A&E without a wait time of several hours! I would be interested in doing the meet, but I'm not willing to use up one of my limited FP+ for them on such a short trip as our upcoming one is (only one day in MK), and definitely not willing to wait hours. So we will just go on our happy way and hope that the long wait there draws some of the crowds away from everything else we want to do!

We waited 3 hours to meet A&E back in February. My daughters walked around and got breakfast with grandma and we took turns waiting in line. Would I do it again? YUP! We met a lot of great people in line and talked and all took turns with bathroom breaks. And seeing my daughters who are 6 & 8 smile from ear to ear and still talk about how much fun it was (they probably stood total in line for 1 hour with breaks) was the highlight of our trip. I don't feel insane at all.

People are saying that everyone has to wait now because of how the line is configured. Would you have waited as long if your daughters had to stay in line the whole time?

I don't think that you're crazy. I wouldn't do it but not because I think it's crazy but because I think that it would make me crazy.

Yes I would stand in line if the kids had to as well. (I was prepared with coloring books, markers, snacks, etc.) and asked both of them "are you sure you want to wait" and they both said yes. After all is said and done however, if I asked them now they would say NO WAY NOT AGAIN. But at the time they were super excited. For us adults we really had a good time in line LOL with all the other people who waited. If you asked me pre-kids I would have said "I can't imagine waiting in a line that long"

Haven't read through the thread, but I'll just say it - I positively do not get the hype about Frozen. It was enjoyable, but not one of my favorites. I would take Despicable Me any day of the week. And 5 hours to meet ANYBODY????

You know, sometimes I kind of just wonder what kind of person would wait in such a line just to meet a couple of characters... but then I realize that if my trip was a couple of weeks later, I might be getting into line at 3am just to get to meet Billy Dee Williams. So I'm not going to be throwing any stones from within my glass house and just let it go.

Star Wars was a big deal to me when I was a kid, and it still is a big part of my life these days. I can't very well look down upon parents whose children are really into something like Frozen taking them into a line like this. If you're at WDW on a 7 day pass, spending one of your days to let your kid have a very distinct memory is something that I think would be worth it (less so if you're only there for a few days).

Could Disney be handling it better? Certainly. But they're a big organization, and it takes them time to respond to unexpected things, and Frozen being this big of a deal was kind of a shock. They'll get things figured out eventually, and it'll make for a better experience the next time one of the Princess movies unexpectedly makes it big.

The screengrab above certainly speaks for itself, but I was there around 9:40 or so on Easter Sunday (their first day meeting at MK) and I had a FP for it and I really didn't witness such chaos. Someone in the room with us told the Castmember that the posted wait time was 3 hours but he only waited an hour and a half. (And I know that was truthful since even with EMH the park had only been opened an hour and 40 mins by that point.)

I also saw a friend post on tumblr that the posted wait time when they went was 2 hours but their wait was only 30 minutes, so I think Disney might be overestimating times instead of underestimating just to be safe.

On Sunday the outside queue was very, very organized with no spillage at all out near the carrousel. I have Fps for both days this weekend so I will definitely be keeping an eye on the standby corral and wait times, too.

Just for comparison's sake, here is a pic I snapped Sunday morning about 10am (their first morning at MK.) The ropes outside for their extended queue weren't even full and things were very orderly and organized. I didn't witness any chaos personally, and overheard people saying their waits were substantially shorter than what was posted.

That said, a couple weeks ago, I watched a woman get literally stampeded over by the crowd rushing to TSMM at Hollywood Studios. This craziness isn't exclusive to A & E. Sometimes though the pics don't tell the whole story. From that perspective, it could just be a mass crowd entering Fantasyland and not entirely a A & E mob scene.

Never ever ever! It's fun to get caught up in the Disney Magic , but at what point in that 5 1/2 hour line does one come to their senses and realize the "magic" is gone and what it comes down to is standing in line to get an autograph from a college kid that goes to U Conn. Or NYU. Also, the fact that you just paid $100 to get a ticket to do so and not go on many or any attractions. If people are willing to pay the money, I will dress up and they can stand outside my door for 5 1/2 hours...I'll sign whatever you want.

I love Disney but I think that the consumer has created this "monster" and continues to feed it. With that said( sorry for my rant) I will be there in September with my child having an awesome time riding everything and waving at A&E at a distance.
