32 days and counting til our first WDW trip!

Hi, my name is Heather and I've never been to WDW before. We wanted to go earlier in the year but my sister in law couldn't go until June 23rd so that's when we are going. So seriously, how crazy is this going to be? Packed in like sardines? 10 hour waits for rides?

Other than that, I'm so excited. We're taking my mom and dad and my husband's mom and sister along with our three kids. The best part is that the kids think we are going to our timeshare/campground membership in Virginia. When we get to the airport they will find out that we aren't going where they thought we were! I can't imagine what their reaction will be!

Anyhow, any tips for me for going during one of the busiest seasons? Thanks

Hi Heather, welcome to the Dis!!

It is a busy time of year, but that's when we go also and with some careful planning you can still avoid a lot of the lines. Research some of the 'bigger' rides and then find out what you all really want to go on and hit those first thing in the morning! Most of the crowds don't show up until 11:00 or 12:00, so if you're there at rope drop you can get a LOT done!!

We always show up very early, get done as much as we can, head back to the hotel for a mid afternoon break and swim, then return in the evening for the shows.

Yeah that's what we were planning. We're gonna try and go early and then head back to the house to go swimming and eat lunch and then go back in the afternoon/early evening. It's 9 of us and my mom had foot surgery a few months back so she can't walk for 10 hours straight or anything.

We're getting together with the whole family this weekend and planning our itinerary and other stuff. Unfortunately its really hard to plan stuff when the kids don't know. Everything has to be done in secret

Ah, very cool! I was at my weight watchers meeting last night and one of the ladies that goes there is also going at the same time. We joked that we might not want to run into each other though because we might see that the other one's not eating right

We're also down to 1 month from today!!!!!! We're driving from Boston, and leaving June 23 and getting to WDW June 24TH
Can't wait!!! We're doing the Vistana for 7 nights and Saratoga Springs for 4 nights!!!!!!

Now we just sit and wait....

Thanks Danny! We got together with my whole family on Sunday to plan things. So far we have what days we're going to what parks planned out according to what parks do not have EMH that day. Our plan is to hit the parks as they open, get FP for the rides we really want to ride, get on all we can before it gets crazy and then go home for the afternoon and come back at night. As of today I managed to get reservations for all 9 of us at one table for a breakfast buffet character meal

The best part is that my kids are COMPLETELY CLUELESS that we're going!!

I was looking through my "unofficial guide" book today and getting really nervous about lines and stuff during that time of year. But oh well! No turning back now, right?!!

And I do WW too! How funny is that?! I'm definitely skipping the meeting the week I get back..
