30th Birthday!

Hello my fellow DISers!
We are going to DL this weekend for my brother's 30th birthday. I want to do something special but I am fresh out of ideas. He is too old for Patt E Cakes birthday thing and he doesn't really like cake. We are staying off site. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Birthday Buttons are free.

F! dessert package with reserved seating. $60

Nice dinner at Napa Rose or Steak House 55.

Drinks at the Alfresco Lounge in DCA or Trader Sams at the DLH.

Here are a few ideas:

• When getting on Mark Twain Riverboat, ask if you can pilot the boat. It's a fun experience that comes with a certificate.
• At the Main Street train station, ask a conductor if you can ride tender. You'll be able to ride in the engine car. It's a lot of fun, and they are really good at giving you some really interesting info about Disneyland and the trains.
• Also at the Main Street station, ask if you can ride the Lilly Belle. I'd suggest asking early in the day to increase your chances (if it's running that day)
• If you're making reservations at any of the TS restaurants, be sure to mention his birthday. Remind the hostess when you check in.
• If it's not too expensive for you, you can try to get reservations at Blue Bayou. If you do, ask for a waterside table.
• If he likes Disney trivia and/or history, maybe you could book a tour.
• If he likes Fantasmic! and it's showing that day, you can purchase the reserved seating.

How about the Kitchen Sink at Surf's Up grill(?) at the PPH.That certainly is festive!

Riding the front or back of the monorail is also fun. Maybe if you have reservations at Steakhouse 55 for a day that you're in the parks, you could take the monorail from Tomorrowland to DTD and walk to DLH from there?

It's at the PCH grill at the PPH.
Here's a link to a photo......Not sure if it still comes delivered in the "sink" or not any longer. There was a post a while back where someone mentioned this. Hopefully somebody who has had the sundae recently can let us know how it was served.
