30th birthday party ideas

My Dh is a triplet (all boys), and they turn 30 this March! My sil's and I want to do something special for them. Should we have a family party at a hall and invite all their friends, or should we do a bar hopping thing and let them party it up, keeping it very adult oriented?

What would you do?

I would rent a hall and a DJ....I am not into bar hopping or even drinking at all so I certainly wouldn't want to attend anything that involved goign to bars and getting wasted-at 18 that was my ideal birthday but at 30 I had so outgrown that.

I am sooooooo glad you said that!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said the same thing! It's my SIL's that are the problem! I always thought that should be something that is family oriented! We all have children!!!!!!!! I think they got mad at me because I said I think it's time to grow up and quit it with the bar thing!!!!!! They are always mad at me anyway so what's the diffrence this time. I want my hubby to have a nice party. The one Sil suggested we go to Atlantic City and get a room at the casinos and get a stripper! And it's only $800 a night! That's why I wanted to get other people's opinions, thought maybe I was missing something with the whole 30th thing!!!!!

All my friends had 40th birthday parties, none had 30th but either way I would still rather have it a nice party than a drunk fest, or worse yet, a nasty stripper fest...blech! I wouldn't mind going to A/C, have a nice dinner and see a show, but the stripper, no thank you but if its a party then I prefer a hall, dinner and a DJ.
