Or it may end up that I don't leave Florida during our trip and let them worry about it. I know that may sound mean, but my mother and I are not on the best terms as I've never forgiven her for the way she treated my dad and it's just time Mark and I took care of ourselves.

I can't blame you. I don't know all the circumstances, but you've definitely got to put yourself and Mark first.

And the reason is simple. As a 30th anniversary gift for my wonderful hubby, I booked him a tour he has been wanting to do: The Keys to the Kingdom Tour.

Ok, that's a pretty good anniversary gift. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun!

Up next: watch out fellas, Nicki and Kathy are loose at the outlets

But not before a stop at Starbucks.

Yay for Keys yo the Kingdom tour! I considered that for my upcoming trip, but since I'll only have one MK day and its a long tour I decided against it this time.

Boy can I understand and relate to the mom relationship Daddy ( just the way I wrote that probably speaks volumes) and I were very close and that caused grief my whole life Like a divided household Haven't seen her in years you have to do what is best for you to have a happy life toxic people just make us sick in every way sad but more common in families than we probably know

Kathy I almost broke out in a little jig because I thought we had booked our KTTK tour the same day.... darn, ours is on the 27th. What a great way to celebrate your 30th!!

I hope the quest to get a cheaper car rental pays off. That some crazy difference in pricing between DTD and MCO.

I can also relate to your relationship with your mother, I have a very strained one with my father whom I didn't know or hear from him from the time I was 7 years old until I was 31 years old. It's very understandable how you feel.

Carolyn and I will be celebrating 27 years on August 23rd. The years have gone by so fast since a pretty 20 year old girl and a very immature(ok I'm still immature, LOL) boy said, "I will." Looking back, I think I got the better end of the deal. I couldn't imagine not having her after all these years.

I still think you have a chance for the car rental rate to come down. Have you tried carrentalsavers.com. I booked through them in June and their rates were lowest without codes. I ended up getting the lowest rate just days before I left.

If you can't get the rate down then I would def just head back to MCO and pick it up, as inconvenient as it is.

I can't believe its time for everyone's annual Sept trips (you and Wickett's mom have trips right on the horizon). All I can say is - it was a FAST year.

I did the KTTK tour many years ago and I loved it. It's really well done. I hope you both enjoy it as much as I did!

Plans for pre Nickiland sound great !!! I bet Mark will LOVE the Tour !! I hear you with your Mom!! I was so blessed with 2 very loving parents. I inherited such wealth from them and it was not the bucks either. My Mom is responsible for my sense of humor , my ability to recover from minor type infections like thre flu, my terrible sense of direction, (her's was WAY worse ) My Dad was the work ethic professor he believed you gave 110% minimum, he also volunteered a lot . My mom was everyone of my friends confidante !! So you can see why I was blessed . When my Dad died I was his only daughter my sister was his stepdaughter but his will read MY daughter's . It would have not mattered azs I would never take advantage of my sister . But these were the ethics on which I was raised !!!

Thanks, Rosie...I love my Nickiland time. I'm sure Mark is going to love the tour. There are many issues about my mom that I choose not to go into, but we've just not been as close as we used to be.

that tour sounds really fun, i want to do that but, we will prob wait till the kids are grown and we start taking trips on our own again...

One of the many reasons I like these adult only trips is the things we can do that we didn't with the kids.

Yay for Keys yo the Kingdom tour! I considered that for my upcoming trip, but since I'll only have one MK day and its a long tour I decided against it this time.

We actually were supposed to go to Sea World to swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove, but decided to hold that until the kids go with us next trip. So the Keys to the Kingdom Tour worked out perfectly.

And yay for Nickiland!

Have you looked at Alamo picking up at SOG? I've found some majorly good deals there....You don't have to have a military ID to get in and pick up a car. Just something to look at.

I did look into that and it was over $450. The problem was picking up there and dropping off at Orlando Airport. I ended up playing and could only get it down to $379. So, for the heck of it, I put in our arrival date (the 16th) and return date (the 1st) and it was $273 for 16 days!!!! I was paying $178 for nine days. I took the full 16 days for $273. This way we can drive to resorts where we have meals rather than deal with buses, etc.

Now that Mark is back from Vegas, it really feels close. Now I have to get his laundry done so I can start packing.

The price is usually around $50 more because of different pick-up/drop off location; but over $150 difference was ridiculous. I like our new plans (see above).

Thanks, Bob. I hate that we lost our close relationship, but she was just plain cruel to my father and I will never forgive her. She never went to the hospital or nursing home the last 8 months of his life.

Our anniversary was actually in May (May 21), but with baseball we can never go during our actual month. In fact, Mark had to ump a game at 8 p.m. on our anniversary, so we went to McDonald's for our anniversary dinner.

I'm glad I could do this for Mark. The man works so hard all summer with baseball and then going to Vegas and being on his feet for 10-12 hours a day doing his tradeshow...this is the least I can do for him.
