30 pounds by Oct, who's with me??

I have to honest. I have not worked out or watched anything i have eaten, well except for it to go into my mouth haha

Dh and I signed up to do a 4 miles walk/run race in september, so now innate no reason to not get into shape and get back on track!!

I lost a pound!

:lmao: Everyone has to start somewhere, right?

You sound like me. I post my meager 1 lb. losses on here and always feel kind of silly since many are losing so much more and faster to boot. Congrats from a fellow slowpoke!

Every pound counts! My weightloss is so slow, I am excited about any fluctuation in the weight no matter how small it is. keep up the good work!

I lose VERY slowly, so don't feel like you are alone! I usually drop around 5 pounds and then stall out for MONTHS. Then I give up b/c it's so frustrating.

I have used myfitnesspal before but haven't used it for more than tracking my weight recently. I found it frustrating because it doesn't have many food selections especially if you cook a lot. I have heard a lot of people that like it though. Especially since it o's free it is worth trying.

You can add entire recipes! You name the recipe, put in how many servings it makes, and then plug in all the ingredients and it'll figure it out for you. I use that a ton. It saves the recipes for you too so it's already there when you need to use it again.

For those of you on MFP, I'm chinchiller over there as well. I added a couple of you.

1lb at a time! I've always heard that the slower your rate at losing weight( like and 1/2lb-2lb a week), the better your chance at the weight staying off! I know when some people first start a weightloss program and drop several pounds that first week, it's mostly water weight, then after that I think that's when the actual weight starts going down. I like the quote, "slow and steady wins the race".

I've not found any one item not in it yet, and as someone else mentioned you can input a recipe if needed. But I love the barcode scanner and have been really surprised that some items were in it that are name brand for our local grocery store that is a regional store.

accepted your friend request, and for everyone else, I confirmed my user name is krsloane.

My official weigh in isn't until Monday, but yesterday I finally hit 10 lbs lost :cool1: now it feels like I really am getting going!

For those of you that have only lost a few pounds, I'd venture a guess that you have relatively little to lose. Percentage wise, you're probably losing a similar amount.

I'm at the National Take Shape for Life Convention near Washington DC this weekend. I have to tell everyone on this thread about this program that is absolutely life-changing. It's much more than fast, safe weight loss. The focus is on creating optimal health..... through a healthy body, mind, and healthy finances.

I've heard so many stories about how this program has changed people's lives. I know it has changed mine and I just want to share it with everyone. I sat in a room with about 30 people who collectively lost a ton of weight. No... I really mean more than a ton... 2,300 pounds total. I heard how people reduced stress, reached financial goals, retired early, and much more. Losing weight safely and quickly using this doctor-designed, nutritionally sound, and results-proven program works.

I am overwhelmingly excited about sharing this. No matter what people are doing to get there, it is awesome to see people getting healthy. http://paulkelly.tsfl.com/

First off, I want to congratulate everyone on here. While I don't comment on everyone's progress, I am inspired by all of you. Keep up the hard work and thank you for sharing your successes.

I've weighed in and I've lost one more pound. I was hoping for 2, but I'll take what I can get. Especially considering how I ate last weekend. I also only exercised 3 days this past week. I have been wanting sugar SO BAD the last few days. I've resisted so far. At a carvnival, no less.

My goal for next week will be 2 pounds and I am aiming at walking at least 5 days. I'm also aiming to keep away from the junk food. But it's hard. It's calling to me!

It's been 3 weeks since I joined this challenge and I'm holding steady at 5 lbs. lost. Nothing to shout about but much better then I was doing before I found this thread. Thanks for the motivation. Best of luck to us all!

Same for myself.... Down about 3.5.... A good start, but really need to up my game!

Great job everyone!!! I did my weekly weigh in and Ive lost a 1/2 lb. this week and another 1/2 inch off my measurements, for a total of 29.5 inches lost. I have so far, only changed my diet and have been swimming twice a week. I am going to try kicking it up a notch and start using my gym membership. My goal to start is 2-3 days a week of cardio and resistant training on top of the swimming and lower carb eating. I really enjoy reading the posts on this thread!!! Hope everyone has a great and healthy week! ;0)

At the beach this weekend with no scale!! Have been doing pretty well, eating lots of fruits and veggies, but I did have a Tastykake :scared1:and some peanut butter crackers on the beach today. Walked a little bit and anxious to get home to get on the elliptical again. Before the beach I was up to about one hour on the elliptical at a slow pace. Gotta ramp it up when I get home. I will not weigh in until Wednesday, so I feel like I have been stuck at 19 pounds forever.

friend requested you both on fitnesspal. after atkins my total weight loss is 7 pounds was 10 but fluctuated:confused3 to 7! My sister is in town this week and we are heading to Chicago for a couple of days. dont think I can pass up Garretts gourmet popcorn:blush: but as soon as I get back it will be back to business!
I actually like the fitness pal app, cant figure out how my exercise and calorie goal balance out but using it anyway. keeps telling me I need to eat my goal or I will go into starvation mode....:confused3 but I thought we needed a negative calorie intake to lose weight....

keep up the good work everyone! a pound is a pound no matter how big or small! :rotfl: I have been at 153 for 5 days now! I would gladly take a pound or two!:rotfl2:

My niece just graduated from SCAD in June so over the past few years I've gotten to know Savannah well. I'm simply amazed that you didn't gain after 5 days in the city that loves to eat :-). Good for you. Did you walk it off? There's lots of fun places for that ,too.

Congrats to your niece! SCAD does wonderful work!

We walked and walked and walked some more! And 2 days swimming at Tybee. Those waves are like being hit by a truck!

I did pretty good this weekend. Foodwise it could have been better but I kept up with the exercises. Weigh in tomorrow. I'd like to reach the 2lb/week target but I don't think it's going to happen (again).

Sounds like fun. Tybee is the one place I never made it to, regretfully.

I'm kind of bummed because I went up a half lb. today. I know why. I got too busy to exercise much yesterday. If I even skip one day I backslide. I think part of it is my age, 59 years young. I've been wondering if there are others on this thread in my general age vicinity? So tough to lose at this age, hormones are against you :-). No excuses though, I know it can be done. Will try harder today!
