30% off PIN vs 5/2 at Values

FI and I are headed to Disney for the marathon in January. Here are the trip details:


Arrive 1/4
Depart 1/11
Staying at: Any of the value resorts

We received a PIN for 30% off valid 1/3-1/7 and 1/10 forward.

We are planning on buying AP's while we're down there as we're headed back in May for our honeymoon!

My question is would we be better off doing the 5/2 or using the 30% for room only? I've tried to run the numbers and my head's starting to hurt

The 30% off code would make the room rate ~$496 for you week, and the room portion of the 5/2 is $515 (based on using 3 nights at the $107 rate). Ticket prices from 4 day to 7 day is $20, so even if you go with the 5/2, and upgrade to the AP with your park tickets... the $20 cost difference from a 4 day to a 7 ticket is the same as the room savings between the 30% & the 5/2.

Question is... do you want to save money up front, and spend more cash on your AP's upon arrival, or do you want to put more towards the trip now, and spend less on your AP's.

Of course, you have to think about if you were considering the dining plan... if you do, then you need to buy at least the 1 day park tickets on the 30% to add the dining plan.

I got an offer for 40% moderate, but i'd rather stay super cheap and go sooner. Is the 30% off value rate open to everyone or do you have to hope to receive a pin code, etc.?????

You've got to hope for the pin code. It isn't a general public offering.
