I ran across this blog of '30+ of the most beautiful abandoned places and modern ruins i’ve ever seen'. The pictures were absolutely amazing. Does anyone else have any abandonded place pictures?

Thanks for sharing this link. These photos are just amazing.

The City Hall subway station in New York is fairly well known, and although trains do not stop there it is not really abandoned. When the trains were made longer the station could not fit the trains so it was "abandoned" but the station has been restored. Trains do not stop there but they do pass through.
Here is an interesting abandoned railroad tunnel in Philadelphia:

Cool photos. I am intrigued by the St Etienne one. A brook running through an abandoned church. With my DD living in France at the moment, I wonder if it is in St Etienne, France.
Halogen tv station plays a show called PhotoXplorers. They go into different abandoned buildings.

I am interested in abandoned railroads and come across some fascinating stories. Although not great photos, the ones at the bottom of this page may have a WDW connection. Rumor has it that it was easier to move and modify an existing bridge instead of build a new one for the WDW Railroad bridge near Big Thunder Mountain. The bridge supposedly came from the railroad shown on these pages, near the bottom of the page are photos of a bridge in the same area (Doe River Gorge, TN).

Not a rumor, Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock NC (the legacy of the ET&WNC in the story) has done some overhaul work on some of WDW's locomotives.

That's a very cool blog, and some amazing places I'd love to see myself someday. I've always had a fascination for abandoned, closed, ruined, or ghost-towned places and structures...and they are great subjects for photography.

I've got a few that might fit the category, from my travels...

Unfortunately I went in 2006 after just buying a D50 to replace a film slr but not a new lens. My35-70 was the widest I had:( I didn't realize about the crop factor thing until I got there.

Had a wonderful visit to Philadelphia last year!!! I may have posted these before, P&S forum maybe:confused3
