Any "clean & dry" hotel on orlando, not more than 10 miles from disney? We don't need pool or something like that. Maybe internet.

I know about priceline/hotwire/timeshares. But i was wondering if there is a simple hotel.

March 9 till March 14.

EDIT: SOME CLARIFICATION:

What i tried to mean by "clean & dry" is just that:

Clean room, i don't want to find any previous guest leftovers, but i won't complain if one of the walls shows signs of a little wear.

And dry, meaning i don't want to room to smell like a pool or an old house.

I'm obviously not expecting a 5 star room.

I don't need luxuries, just a decent room.

I wold be there only for sleep, as i hope i would spend 90% of the time at the parks.

This is exactly what I would like to know. Just my husband and I are going Oct 15 - 22 this year. We need a cheap place that is clean (we have so many allegeries and asthma) and comfortable for around $50 or less a night. Any good suggestions with hotel/motel names?

TIA

I have searched using kayak, and there are many, but there are so different reviews from the hotesl ... for example:

Americas Best Value Inn $27
Wynfield Inn Orlando Convention Center $36
Heritage Hotel $36
The Orlando Grand Hotel $38
Days Inn Orlando Universal Maingate $40
Knights Inn Orlando $40
Orlando Hotel Continental Plaza $40
Days Inn Orlando Downtown $42
Days Inn Orlando/International Drive $43
I Drive Metropolitan Express $45

is it skoosh rating trustable?

After doing some looking around I am thinking that Holiday Inn Maingate East will be a good stay considering they are newly renovated and have new mattresses. If we can get a 40% discount we should be paying around $50 a night or so. They are only 2.5 miles away from the main entrance to Disney too. Good luck on your trip!

Well, either keep checking on one of those booking sites for the lowest price or try using AAA or a Sam's Club discount, or something along those lines. I read on another thread somewhere in here someone stayed for around $40. So it's definetly worth checking into.

We stayed at the Days Inn right next to Old Towne and it was comfortable (not luxurious or anything) but we were hardly there so it was worth it for the $35/night we spent.

When did you stay at the Days Inn and was the $35 the regular rate or a discount rate? How maintained were the rooms? I would hate to have an allergy attack due to mold or dust the entire trip. Thank you sooo much for your post too! $35 a night would be easier on the pocketbook.:)

If your other options do not work for the $50, maybe try Priceline, check the boards and see recent wins and read the lists of possible hotels in each zone, consider risks, etc. You do not know what you'll get but it may be worth a shot. FWIW.

It was last summer so I have no idea what it would be like now. If you have allergies, I would do some searching around for the best bet! I would pay a little more for safety sake if I had to.

It's time for a dose of reality!

Hotels in this price range are generally older..... So they are not going to be as "clean and new" as folks on here seem to expect.

And you are in Florida where the humidity is 100%.

So yes, you have a much higher risk of mold in these hotels. (I have stayed in some and had not problems, but I have no allergies and as a general rule try not to do detailed inspections on the cleanliness on ANY hotel :rolleyes1 )

I recoginize some on the list posted earlier. I think SAFE needs to enter the equation here. That Wynfield looks VERY seedy IMHO

Most of them have outdoor access, once again that will cause more "dust" mold issues.

So if you expectation is "surface" clean you will probably be OK. If your expectation is no dust, no mold, clean bedspreads between each stay etc it's time to up the price point!

dry is a problem.

also in a hotel in florida you are more likely to get a pool than internet (internet is still only in the more expensive places - that I have seem)

here is the listing from kissimmee visitor site for hotels under $46

might go with the hotels that don't have a website - generally mom and pop type of place.

call and ask them their rates first, of course.

the golden link hotel is where 535 and us 192 - meet - so a fairly good location for getting back and forth to the parks.

okay the link it not working

so try the one before you - just put in what you want

Not same time period - but we stayed at Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista in December for $39/night. We thought the hotel was well worth the price-- clean, amenities, close to Disney. However, there have been negative reviews as well. The room came with microwave and refrigerator. Would tell you more, but we only spent the night 11pm to 8am there before we moved to Disney property.

I did get this price through Orbitz.

how often have you used kayak?

are these rates guaranteed?

are you working for in any way kayak?

don't mean to be insulting - but these rates are lower by far than any I have seem.

so tell some more please!

forgot to mention - you are going during spring break - so these might be the best you can find.
