3 Yr old on Haunted Mansion

I took my DN whem she was 3 and she loved it. She actually had a minor tantrum when we had to explain to her that a ghost wasn't really coming home with us to be her new best friend.

I recommend holding them. I did with my two year old and now he loves turning off the lights and saying in a spooky voice "ooohhhhh spooky!" Now he says Haunted Mansion was his favorite MK ride.

Lol our 2 year old loved it and was doing that too but added a "Bahahaha" in a scary voice. Both her and our 4 year old were fine.

We were just there yesterday with ds1 and dd2&1/2. Both of my littles have been on it before and we just kept reassuring dd that it wasn't scary. Some old man jerk behind us kept asking her if she really wanted to go inside bc it was scary and don't cry. In her little lady voice she kept telling him, it's not scary. Some people just shouldn't talk smh. Anyhow, we skipped the first room (for the first time ever!) and will probably do that again for the next few years.

You can skip the room if you want, you just ask the cast member at the door before you enter. When we were there recently the CM noticed our DD was a bit nervous and asked us if we wanted to skip the room, we did.. We ended up just leaving the ride all together because it didn't seem up to her speed but it isn't too bad for most kids, the majority of people in line were parents with young kids

when my youngest DSS was 4 I took him and his older brother and one of his sisters on this ride (DF took eldest DSD elsewhere)...and him and I ended up having to do chicken exit. Luckily DSS12 was always really responsible and watched his younger sister on the ride for me, so I could leave with youngest DSS...

What I wish I did was watch a ride through with him. We did a ton of youtube ride throughs with DSD11 (who has SPD), but didn't think to do so with the baby..that might help mentally prepare your LO for the ride.

The Haunted Mansion is my favorite ride - DD who is 5 knew this and wanted to ride it.

I thought she would be fine and DH thought she would be scared. I held her during the stretching room part but she was fine. She happily told DH that it was fun and not scary once we were finished

We skip the stretching room on almost every time we ride. DH can't go in it so they escort us (we are a family of 4) through the back and we meet up with the guests right after they get out of the room. You just get in line like normal and tell the person at the door when you walk in you want to skip the stretching room. They have you wait by the door on the opposite side of the entrance and then a CM will escort you and your party around. Sometimes we don't want to skip it and we let DH go around the back with the CM alone and he meets up with us as we exit the stretching room. FYI, my kids have been going on this ride since they were infants. It's a family favorite and they were never afraid of it. Then again, my kids favorite movies were Sleepy Hollow and a Nightmare Before Xmas as kids, so maybe they aren't a good example ;):lmao:

Same here, son loves nightmare before Christmas and the haunted mansion movie and ride, everything Halloween. We took our 2&1 yr old thru the whole experience and they both loved it. Not one cry or sign of being scared.
Give it a try

You are only in that room for a short time. I held my son and talked to him during it. He actually thought it was really neat. In fact, my 10 year old was more scared than him. She was fine after we went on. I think the anticipation and the decor on the way to the ride freaked her out. We went on that ride twice so they were willing to go on again! :)
