In March we took our dd 3 (a new 3) to WDW for the first time.
She loved the castle... as a matter of fact she wanted to go to MK quite a bit.
We did bring her... In July we want to expand her " park horizons" SO we thought we would take her to Disney Studios first before MK to see some shows and parades... ride Toy Story Mania etc. Has anyone ever run into MK fixation before with a little one? Suggestions please.

Not with a kid, but with DH. We went to MK 2x out of 5 days last time and were on our way for a 3rd, but that was a saturday and we really didnt want to do MK once we saw the wait line for it at TTC so we did epcot. This time he said he wants to do MK at least 3x and pretty much stick to MK & DHS.

I would say doing DHS first would help out w/ that addiction though.

I think a 3 year old will get 'fixated' on a certian toy, tv show, and in your case a theme park regardless! It's the age.

As a parent, just be sure to introduce her to new things ona daily basis. It's only a part of learning and growing. :)

If she protests going into a different park, let her know that she will still see Minnie, Mickey or whoever else around this park too.

If she's a Playhouse Disney kid...like my 3 year old...be sure to hit the show at DHS!!! She'll love it!

It is absolutely my kids favorite park  and they have been to all four. We always have to go at least twice. It's Mom and Dad's favorite park too :thumbsup2.

DD3 LOVED HS because it is where Ariel was (that day ;) ). She also liked seeing Belle's show with all Belle's friends. ToT was a big hit too (hs emanaged to just be over all the 40" marks). We ate at H&V with the characters, 50s PTC, and Sci-FI and all were hits for the kids (Sci-FI was NOT for us with a LONG wait and lousy dinner food). And the kids got to meet some new characters that are not at MK.

AK was a lot of fun too and very easy to see characters.

Epcot was not so interesting to our 3 yo (ok, maybe cause it is my least favorite park). She liked TT and Soarin, but was too small for M:S. Epcot is a lot of walking (or pushing a stroller) and just kinda overwhelming for her and DS5. But they liked Nemo and Turtle Talk with Crush. We ate at Coral Reef (they liked the aquariam view), 9 Dragons (so yummy and amazingly kid friendly), and Akershaus (DD was in her glory to eat with Ariel).

Our DD (2) also loves the MK. We would go to whatever park we wanted in the morning, go back to the hotel and rest after lunch, and do the MK at night. It was a nice compromise, plus the MJ is my favorite, too! :)
