3 weeks and I still find it terribly sad

No one should ridicule someone else's grief; regardless of who it is about. Some people do not grieve over dead pets, and for some it is a very deep mourning, as much as for a human family member. Same thing.

i think everybody cares about all this stuff. the point of the opposition posts were that you arent losing sleep over these much worse things that are happening now. this forum is about expressing opinions. if someone thinks it is silly to still be broken up 3 weeks after a celebrity dies, who cares if they state it. doesnt mean they dont care about these other things. i am sad that michael jackson died. but the things above bother me far worse, and have a much greater impact on me right now than michael jackson.

When they don't care that is when they need to be posting in another thread on a subject they DO care about. That's the point. You don't go around personally attacking people because of the way they feel. It's just wrong. I'm pretty sure most of us are still living normal lives but we are still very sad about the loss of MJ. We have a right to feel that way and a right not to be criticized. Anyone who doesn't feel that way should move on to another thread.

That's one of the most ludicrous things I heard. It is not the same thing.

A pet IS part of your family. You see it daily, you interact with it, you have an emotional connection. And it knows who YOU are.
