Over Christmas and New Years week we had all 34 members of our family in Orlando for my mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary. We had a great time. Never knowing that three weeks later one of us would die. My 41-year-old brother-in-law had trouble with Atrial Fib (abnormal heart rhythm). He went into cardiac arrest 2 weeks ago and was revived through CPR and emergency medical help and was on life support for the last 2 weeks. He was taken off life support on Tuesday and breathed on his own for 1 1/2 hours but then passed away. We are so heart broken.

We have so many wonderful pictures from our trip. Especially quite a few that were taken at Disney's Beach Club Villas and Beaches and Cream, as we also celebrated two birthdays over there with ice cream.

We find ourselves hugging each other and saying I love you quite a bit. Cherish every moment and every trip you take with loved ones.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

One of the reasons we bought into DVC was to build good memories for the kids. To give them some extraordinary fun time with family. You never know when bad things will happen. A good friend of mine was out jogging, had a heart attack and died. He was in great shape, ate well, etc. He was in his early 60s but you would have thought he is ten years younger. In five years if another friend of mine is alive it will be a miracle.

Time is short whether one knows it or not.

We used our developer points to buy some resort time for family our last trip. And we will do the same this spring and maybe next fall. Last night we where trying to figure out how many more points we need and how in the heck we could pay for them. :lmao:

Later,
Dan

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss!! It is so hard to move on and get past those things.

It is wonderful that so many of your family was able to get together for the trip! And yes....you do need to hug each other a little more and remember those great times together. I will say a little prayer for you and your family.

We had something similar happen to us so I can appreciate how you might be feeling. My mom was supposed to go to Disney with us last June '07 but she just went downhill so fast and passed April 26th. Eventhough it is Disney, it was the hardest vacation I ever had to go on. My family still went and took my sister (who lived with our mom). We get through the hard times by remembering the good. She did go to Disney with us for the first time in 2006 and had such a fabulous time that we were trying to take her back in 2007. She was so looking forward to going that we were hoping it was gonna help her to fight on. We have the pics from our first vacation with her and that's what we focus on. Hang in there and keep pulling out those pictures and remember the good times!

I wasnt even going to log on....but I am so sorry for your loss.

It is a tragic loss, I am 41..I cant imagine the sorrow your family must be feeling at this time. Please accept my condolences.....I am glad you have wonderful photos and memories....you will have that forever. God Bless your family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You're right, we all need to cherish the family time we have.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :grouphug: It's especially tragic when you lose someone so young and so unexpectedly.

How tragic. . . our deepest sympathy.

Thank God for the joy you experienced together on your recent trip.

My thoughts and prayers are for your family at this sad time. There was a long thread here just before Christmas talking about the family times that we've all enjoyed at WDW,and the plea to "go when you can." I'm glad your family have this good time to remember.

:grouphug: So sorry for your loss. A similar situation happened in our family 5 years ago so I understand how you all must feel. I know you are all so sad but I'm sure you also feel blessed to have been given the chance to experience that joy of being together and sharing those wonderful memories on your trip. :grouphug:

My sympathies to you and your family. This should be a reminder to all of us to cherish memories with our families.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. We should all be so thankful to have the opportunity to spend quality time with our families. Those are the times that REALLY matter because you never know how much time you've got.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. How nice to know you had such a wonderful time together at Disney before tragedy hit. My thoughts and prayers are with you.:grouphug:
