3 very nice surprises about our VGC stay!

1. You need tokens to get your laundry done, but they give you tokens for detergent as well as the machines.

2. You can rent a ECV directly at the resort. I did not know this and rented at the park the first day. The problem with that is you cannot bring it back to the room, but more importantly, it was a fairly long walk to the rental place at DL. By the way, I learned about this from the nice concierge person who overheard DH & I talking about what we were going to do after the (very nice) character breakfast we were going to. We had decided that DH would walk to get the scooter, and meet me at the CA entrance at the hotel. We must have been speaking louder than we thought and are so happy he heard!

3. Because our room key had charging privileges, and had DVC member on it, we got 10% discounts in the quick service places we ate at! Nice!

4... Just thought of this one. They give the plastic wear in "combo" packs, which include salt and pepper, and a napkin. Just a little thing, but having S&P is nice!

VGC owners, you have a wonderful home resort! Except for Aulani, we have now stayed in all the other DVC resorts!

Glad to hear you had a great stay! We love the VGC!

I suspected that might be how they do the laundry tokens, as that is how they do it at Aulani as well, but it's good to have confirmation. We normally stay in a one bedroom, but will be staying in a studio for the first time on our November trip to the VGC. I am going to miss having a washer dryer in the room, but needed to save some points!!

VGC was the first DVC resort we stayed at. We loved it.

Make sure they don't charge you for parking if you have a car. DVC parking is free there.

Bobbiwoz....so glad you loved VGC! We stayed in a 1 bdrm park view in January 2013 on our first trip to DL with our then 23 year old DS and our then 10 year old DGS and had a fantastic trip. I wholeheartedly agree with your comment about lucky VGC owners! We can't wait to go back.....probably won't be until 2016 though...gotta make sure we have enough airline points to cover at least one way of a coast to coast trip...and we have two more trips planned to WDW this year..BCV in August with DGS..now 12.. and just the two of us in Oct to VWL..and we were at VGF in January...loved it too! (don't think we're going in January again...we've had very cold weather the past 3 or 4 times in January)
