Hi everyone, I've got a mixed bag of questions that I'm hoping someone will be able to answer!

1) I understand that the Disney hotels provide safes behind reception where you can leave valuables during the day. When doing this, do you receive any kind of receipt/confirmation to say what you've left there? Will they take a laptop?

2) To use the new photo pass function, I've read you have to scan a QR code in to your device to store the photo. Do you have to have 3G enabled to do this? Can you do it without internet access? We're looking in to adding it on to our booking but can't if you have to have 3G.

3) We really want to do the park tour, but do you think it will be too cold in December to spend 2 straight hours outside?! Shall we wait until a summer trip (wishful!)

Yes, and yes! There are smaller safes in the room for other valuables.

I'm no expert but I believe you can do it without 3G or internet access.

Gosh, that's a hard one! Could well be too cold TBH but you never know and you don't have to book far in advance I think so maybe wait until you arrive or just before and have a reliable forecast.

for the park tour - it really depends on the weather nearer the time. You could have lovely cold crisp dry weather, and with a little winter sun the park tour could be fabulous.

I did the main park tour in June (and it bucketed rain for the first 90 minutes of our tour ) and I did the Studios tour in mid-February, on a dry sunny day (we took our coats off as we were walking around).

You don't need to book the tour until much closer to your trip dates, so you could keep an eye on the forecast and maybe decide with a week or so before you arrive?

No you don't have to have 3G turned on at the time, just scan the QR code and then later in the day find a Wi-Fi hot spot in the Disney Village or in your hotel to upload that QR code to your Photopass+ account in the App.

The QR code from the ride will stay on your phone for a few hours but must be sent to your Photopass+ account before the end of the day.

I'm on Vodaphone and can add European 3G roaming for £3 per day, but 3G connectivity can be patchy in the parks, just keep a look out for some DLP bloggers huddled together in a 3G area. I've always found a quick ride on Dumbo is a good spot to upload some phones to Facebook.

You can get a free "3hree" sim, we put £15 on it - covers all calls, texts and unlimited data in France. We make good use of it calling each other and using our phones as usual. No worrying about going on the internet and uploading your photos asap to share with others :-D

Thanks for all the advice/opinions :)
We probably won't pay for 3G whilst we are there as we quite enjoy being secluded from the internet! But I'm glad we can still use Photopass if we choose to.
As for the park tour, we will wait and see if the weather is kind!
