we are heading out in july and are only doing magic, mgm, and animal kingdom, should we squeeze in epcot? our trip consists of 2 adults (me and my sis) and our kids (4,6,9,11, and 14). what are we missing?

I would definitely say YES to EPCOT! That is our favorite one, we love visiting the countries, having DD9 do the passport at each country is great.. then there is SOARIN, We usually need 2 days on our vacation to do epcot.. and then that isn't always enough! HOpe that helps!

I would say that you at least will really want to do Future World, the front section of Epcot. How many days will you be in the world? You may be able to do AK and MGM on the same day if you don't have enough time.

Some of the best rides are at Epcot, including Soarin (an AWESOME experiece), Test Track, and Mission Space. Your older kids should really enjoy those and even the younger ones will probably really like them.

For the younger ones the Figment ride is a lot of fun. There is the Honey I Shrunk the Audience 3D movie that is really cool, and if you have any Finding Nemo fans there is a new Nemo themed ride. Oh, and you can NOT miss the Turtle Talk with Crush show. It is amazing and loved by all ages.

What am I forgetting? We usually skip the countries--my kids are 8 and 12 and don't object to doing them but it is a very long walk and usually we just don't have enough time. But a trip to Future World is a must. Our last trip we had to do 3 of 4 and skipped Animal Kingdom.

We love Epcot and would not skip it. Though the countries do take time to walk around, my kids still love them.

And let's not forget Illuminations!!! A wonderful evening lights and fireworks show. For us, that alone is a do not miss for Epcot.

I'll be the dissenting opinion. There are a couple of things that are nice in Epcot, but if you were looking to cut a park out of the 4 *I* would cut out Epcot. In fact, I'm considering cutting out Epcot or limiting it to 1 afternoon on our next trip and just hitting a couple of the attractions we enjoy. Turtle Talk is cool and your younger ones would enjoy it. We didn't get the hoopla over Soarin'. Maybe we had built up our expectations too much or we just had bad seats. Test Track and Mission Space are fairly good, but not enough to cut out another park over, imo. For me, time is better spent in one of the other parks.

What we did is go to Animal Kingdom first half of the day(cause it closes early) and the last half of the day we went to Epcot.

We will be there in late June/first of July with DD dance competition but we too only have 3 days in the park. I don't know if you are staying at a disney hotel or not but we are going to take advantage of the EE morning at Epcot and only do Future World that morning then we will head over to MGM for the rest of the day. Hope this helps and have a GREAT time

When we took our oldest DD, now 8, to Epcot when she was 3 it was very un-kid-friendly, or at least it was to us. We flew through it and found it boring. Our youndest DD, 3 really enjoyed it the last 2 times she has gone. We are spending most of our time in Oct at Epcot. It's F&W, yes, but we love FW and WS. We are also staying at BCV. We are actually going to skip AK this time, despite EE being our fave ride and having not yet done Nemo musical. We are only there for 5 days so we decided to cut that out while DD2 is so young. She can do more at HS, Epcot and MK and really enjoys all of those. We are planning a trip next April or June and we will stay longer so we won't skip anything that day.

My 4 and 7 yr olds didn't find much to enjoy at Epcot. We spent our time mostly at MK and half days at AK and HS. As the kids get older we hope to be able to explore Epcot to the fullest!

I completely agree. Epcot Future World is my DD 6's favorite park. Test Track, Nemo, Turtle Talk with Crush, and Soarin-that is , in my opinion, the best ride in Epcot. Have a great trip!

I'm guessing that your reason for skipping one of the parks is because of a short stay. If that's the case, I would agree with skipping Epcot, not because it isn't wonderful (it is), but because there is so much there and it's rather large. You can get through almost everything in AK, HS and MK in one day each - MK would be a long day, but it's doable. Epcot is practically two parks on it's own - FW and WS. For that reason, I'd skip it. But I'd also rank it highly for your next trip.

If I was skipping any it would be Epcot also. We were a bit disapointed in it. Apart from Soarin' and Turtle Talk, the kids (3,5,7,8 and 11yrs) were pretty bored. I would say though, if you could pop in at night, Illuminations are well worth it. Very Impressive!

I would also echo the sentiment that Epcot is probably the one to miss if you're looking for another opinion. A huge draw of the park for adults is the World Showcase, but some of the younger kids in your group may not appreciate it as much as they will if they can visit when they're older. The shopping and food is great there, but most of my friends with young kids prefer to take them to the rides at Disney Studios or Magic Kingdom, or to see the animals at Animal Kingdom.

Epcot is a must! I would much rather do Epcot then Animal Kingdom. The best part is the world showcase! We also love the food of course! Then at night we watch the Illuminations show and that is a must see. I would consider fitting it in to your vacation.
