I am planning our 1st ever trip to DL & DCA with my
payload
DH, 20 son, 17 yr old daughter & 11 yr old son as a surprise Christmas gift. I am thinking of going Dec 27- Jan 2nd but am not locked in on any special days except need to be home by Jan 7th. I am trying to decide if I should get a 3 or 4 day hopper pass, any suggestions? Can we get it all done in 3 days? Also, any suggestions on dates to go? Thanks in advance!

I have never been to DL, so I have no input on that. However, there are cyber monday deals out there for discounted disney tickets. I did see DL too. I recommend doing some searches for that. :)

You may want to post this on the DL thread as there are people on there that have far more experience than many of us here on the WDW thread. I've been to DL twice and, personally, I would avoid NYE in DL like the plague. I would push your dates as late as possible.

We always feel like 5 days isn't enough, so my vote would be for the most days possible. Since you're going during the busiest time of the year, it's even more important to have more time.

Some APs are blocked out through the 2nd. Others are blocked out through the 6th. You might want to ask about how the AP blockouts will affect attendance over on the DL board. I know I'd personally avoid the 7th because of the blockout opening for SoCal APs.

Lots of schools are probably still out all of those dates so not sure that will have much impact.

Just know this is the busiest week of the year. Take your time, expect big crowds, and definitely plan on buying MaxPass to help maximize your time in the parks.

Not sure if there are Cyber Monday deals, but lately the best deals on DL tickets have been through Last Minute Travel. You have to join to buy, but there are usually codes around online to join for free.

Yes, I realized I posted on the wrong thread as soon as I pushed post but couldn't figure out how to move it or delete it. I had been reading all kinds of pages and posts and didn't check where I was when I decided to ask My questions. My bad

I would plan on 4 days. We did 3 days at DL and 1 day at Universal Studios Hollywood. I wish we would have just done 4 days at DL. Even though there are only two parks there is a lot in each park.

We did 5 days at DL back in May, and it was just right for us. I was really surprised there was that much to do, but there was.
