3-night minimum required?

I was just trying to book at RPR for the last 2 days of our 9-night trip 3/28 & 3/29), so that we could have the FOTL privileges. When I was trying to book on-line, it told me "Not Available", however, when I plugged in an additional night (3/27), it showed available. There was no mention of any 3minimum night anywhere on the site, so I called the reservation line. At first she said they were full for the 28th & 29, however when I explained that they weren't full when you add the additional day, she advised that it is a 3 night minimum and that there was nothing she could do. We're staying in a timeshare for the rest of our trip, so I really don't want to do 3 nights at RPR (plus the extra cost negates the savings for the hotel guest FOTL vs the VIP passes). Does anyone have any experience with this or any ways around it?

I've heard of two night minimums. This is a very popular time, so who knows what they are up to. Someone here recently was able to get one night when there was a two night minimum, just by waiting. Try calling again and talking to someone else.

that will also happen in october on weekends.
to get the saturday night stay, a friday is needed on the ressie to secure it.

your dates are saturday and sunday.
if you can't do a friday, saturday stay, then i speculate the 3 day requirement is required for that weekend.

have you tried to book the 3 days and then wait a few days, go back and cancel one of the nights off the ressie?

Keep trying like damo said..Travel companys reserve blocks of rooms and when they dont fill them they give it back too the resort!!

less than a month out for OP, if convention/blocked room u'd think it'd be released by now, if not soon

OP did u try expedia; supposedly they have last min rooms

I still found the same predicament today when I looked again online. I called the reservation line and got a much more helpful representative who explained that over the weekend nights, they will allow a certain number of one-nite ressies, a certain number of two night ressies and so on. She said I may still be able to do the 2-night if someone cancels, so I booked the 3-night with a AAA discount and will keep checking back, Thanks to all for the tips and info.

call regularly so you can grab the nights you really want.
then drop one night of the stay you booked.


guests must cancel 6 days prior to arrival to avoid the penalty of a one night stay charge.

be sure you do call at that point twice a day before your trip.

I am also looking for one night on that weekend, but the reservation person told me that if we booked the three nights we would not be able to later cancel back to the one night? Anyone ever had that experience with the Universal hotels?
