Hi--I Have some ? regarding the 3 night Cruise only--My mother is taking my sister and myself with 4 kids--total of 7 April 10-13 2003 --We booked yesterday with AAA and booked category 4-two connecting Deluxe State rooms with a verandah-we wanted a suite but they said they save them for land and sea pkgs. When we booked they said we got an early booking discount but our total was close to $5,900.00--with trip insurance--does this sound right???
please let me now what you think --- thanks and have a Disney Day!!

If that is Easter week maybe that is why it is high . I would still check around Call Costco , Ask for a quote from Dreams . This far out you can still cancel and rebook somewhere else with out a fee from Disney . Just check with AAA that they do not charge a cancel fee But some people have saved $1000.00 or more with Costco worth a try . Check back thru the older posts here you can see. Good luck

That does sound a little high. It probably is over Easter weekend. Maybe you could try 2 category 6 staterooms. They are basically just the same, just a little smaller. You will still get the veranda, but 2 categories lower may save you some money. Keep in mind that especially on the 3 night cruise, you won't be in your stateroom very much. So it may be worth it to skip the veranda and get a porthole instead. Good luck!

It isn't Easter week, but it does fall into the Spring Break period when the prices will be higher.

The category 4 staterooms have a little extra space so that they can accomodate 5 people per cabin with a Murphy Bed that pulls down from the wall.

Unless you'll have 5 people in one cabin and 2 in the second one, you don't really have to be in the Category 4s.

To save money, you could get connecting cabins in Category 6, as other posters have suggested. This would put you on deck 6 or deck 5 instead of deck 8.

Except for the additional 3 feet in space for the Murphy Bed and the number of the deck, everything else would be the same. You would still have the same size verandas, the service would be identical, the food and entertainment would be identical, only the price would be lower.

I priced the same cruise in 2002 (April 11, 2002) on the DCL Quote system and it was $2377 for Cat 4 and $1877 for Cat 6. That would save $500 per cabin, at least.

hope that helps

On a 3 day cruise you'll be so busy on board that you'll never be in your room. For the heck of it I priced 2 adjoining cat 9 cabins for the same dates on DCL (7 people in the party) and was quoted a total of $3962.95 without insurance or transfers. That extra $2000 could pay for your air and onboard expenses.
