3-NIGHT BAHAMIAN CRUISE May 13-16, 2010 (Ship Disney Wonder)

Hi again. I really don't mean to be a downer, but its just too short of a cruise for us to do FE or plan to meet at a specific time. We are traveling with another family, and coordinating with them is going to be more than enough for us, especially since I have no idea what my kids will be doing from one moment to the next.

BUT - I'd really like to say hello if I run into any of you on the ship, or vice versa. I've already posted a link to photos, and I now know what Dianatlol & husband look like from their avatar. How about every one else post photos of themselves so we can recognize each other?

Or is that a bad idea?

I would love to run into you guys, and have a drink. I'll have my FE hanging up on our door...Deck 6, room 6576. What room are you guys in? If anything I would just love to meet

I'll still bring some goodies for the kiddos etc. If I see an FE, I'll drop in some stuff.

I think the terminal opens around 10:00 - 10:30, and then they let you start boaring anywhere from 11:30 - 12:00.

The sail away party (Adventures Away Celebration) starts around 4:15 - right after the life boat drill which is at 4:00.

I suggest you go here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/cr-stateroom-navigator.htm

and get familiar with the Navigators. They don't change often - of course, the movies and things like that will be different, but it is a great pre-planning tool. Check back for more current ones as the cruise nears.

Tell us more about yourself and family.

I think I recognize you. I *think* we were on an October cruise at the same time. Not 100% sure. We're going on this cruise as well.

So I was just checking in. We are thinking about doing this as a back to back since we normally do the Magic in April, but we did not want to do the med.

We will join in the FE if we book. We decided to sleep on it for a night a two. We have done one trip on the Wonder last fourth of July as a quick get away.

We are debating how much we will miss the stuff like Formal night and tea party that the Magic has. Our daughter loves the characters so she may not notice.

We are in 2120, but I don't actually plan to be in the room except to sleep.

That's crazy coincidental. Sure - I remember you. November 8, 2007. We went again in 2008 but I think you were on a few weeks before or after us on that one. Not that I was stalking or anything - just saw your posts on the board. If I see you, I'll make sure to say Hi this time. BTW, cute kid.

Yes, I remember that. :) We're going sans children again. We're evil parents. ;) We're making up for it with a Christmas cruise this time around. ;)

Ok so who all wants to join the FE's? List your room number and deck please. If you have kiddlings, ages etc and if you want to give to adults.

It will be me (35), Dh Ken (46) and DD Casey (9)

For those booked in a GTY room, it looks like room assignments are out for our cruise. We were upgraded from a Cat 12 to a Cat 9.

shasess - does that give any indication of how full the cruise will be?

Congrats on the upgrade.

What is everyone's room #? We are 2120 and our friends are 2126.

Thanks!
It looks like DCL is still offering Cat 12s on their website so there still must be quite a few rooms still available. Maybe we'll have the ship all to ourselves! :rotfl:

We are in 1058. When we sailed on the Magic last May we were on deck 2. This time it looks like we will be on deck 1 which is fine with me. I'm just so excited about this cruise!!!!

I've been reading about different upgrade strategies...including asking for some pixey dusting at the time you check in at the port. :confused3 Are you talking about a "free" upgrade?

Any thoughts on that? If we can upgrade, how do we coordinate (new) room assignments for FE? :surfweb:

Looks like 3 families for FE right now...do you guys agree on that count? (Iborne, Dr. Girlfried & 1goofy) Right?

Any help?

Anybody seen anything new about opening of Pelican Plunge? I'm hoping 2nd week of May is close enough for a saft opening.:goodvibes

Can't wait! :cool1:

We DH (46), DM (46) and DS(7) are in 7629 right now; tried just now for an upgrade and the CM was not spreading any pixey dust. :sad1:

We'll certainly try again...figuring on tring when we check in to AKL and again when we hit the port. :confused3

I just had a crazy idea re FE...would anyone be offended if mini bottles showed up for the DH&DM ? :rolleyes1 Don't want y'all to get the wrong idea...but wouldn't want to offend or see them go to waste... ;)

Pelican plunge is open. There is a thread on the main cruise board about it.

1goofy, I am going to pm you in a bit, thanks.

we talked about this last year and we were afraid of people stealing them, like kids.
We are in 6576, can't wait to get back to my ol' room again!

You're probably right on the minis...I suppose they're not so "Disney" anyway...

Question about getting your "old room"? Is that a coincidence, a DVC thing, a special request, or what? Just curious.

This being only our 2nd cruise, we thought we'd try an inside stateroom -- to save $$. (Got the one with navigator's veranda 1st timne around...but that was for 20th anniversary...)

Any observations on inside vs. outside...thinking about paying for an upgrade at the port, but probably only if its a deal. Any thoughts?

Personally, for a 3 night cruise I would only do a veranda if it was free. You aren't on the ship that long anyway. Seems like a waste of $. Unless you spend a lot of time in your cabin, when you really only have 2 full days on the ship and one is spent at Castaway. Talke the extra money and get a cabana massage.

My fav room is 6521, sidways entry forward 11. Right off the elevator lobby.

Since we did it last year at around the same time, they give you the same room, unless you request different

We are also going to do the FE's.... wish it was more then 4 families involved, so we need to get it together so I know how much goodies to buy!

We will always do a veranda, I can sit out there, have my coffee, a smoke (yes we smoke) and or take pics, read a book... it's so relaxing. We do not spend all day at Castaway, we tend to head back after the lunch, and roam the ship or relax in our room
