3 Night Bahama Itinerary E ?

I have never been on a cruise. I have a (perhaps) silly question... Since It E ONLY goes to Castaway, do you still need a passport?

ETA- Or any of the 3 nt cruises with stop at Castaway and day at sea.

U.S. residents are not required to have a passport for a closed-loop cruise to the Bahamas. A closed-loop cruise departs and returns to the same U.S. port. You will be allowed to cruise with a birth certificate (plus a photo ID for those ages 16+). A passport is recommended but not required.

I'm not sure I understand the second question...at this time, I believe any of the 3-night cruises to the Bahamas offered by DCL have scheduled stops at Castaway Cay. All are considered "closed loop."

I see having a day at sea and seeing CC as a much better option for exploring the ship. It gives our family a "taste" of cruising. My DH does NOT want to cruise.

CC is in the Bahamas so there is no difference in the documents needed to take the 3 night itinerary with a sea day and a day at CC versus the itinerary with stops in Nassau and CC. As lanejudy mentioned, you are not required to have a passport for closed loop cruises originating at a US port. A birth certificate (plus photo id for those 16 or older) works.

We are scheduled on a 3 night on the Magic with a sea day and stop at CC. I'm really looking forward to it.
