Only 3 more days to our DL trip - woot woot!

Four of the days that we're going to be in the parks, it's just going to be me and my 3 kids (aged 9, 4 and 2). The days will be Sun Oct 26, Tues Oct 28, Wed Oct 29 and Thur Oct 30. Am I crazy to take little kids there by myself? Is this even do-able? I'm mainly concerned about keeping track of my silly 2 yr old, bathroom breaks and mealtimes. My 2 yr old hates using public toilets so any advice there would be useful as well.

We have a basic plan of getting there early and leaving by 2 or so to head back to the hotel for naps/swimming/dinner. One night we'll go back to see the parade but the other days we'll call it a day.

I'm a little worried that Tues, Wed and Thur are also MToT parties and that the parks will be really crowded. I'm also concerned that Sunday is going to be really crowded.

Anywho - all tips/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Of course it's doable!! Very doable!! The important thing is to have fun and relax. You'll be in DL!!! :) Ask your 9 y.o. for help with the little ones and just enjoy yourselves. Not sure what to suggest about public potties......there is a "family" bathroom over behind the hub, off to the right (facing the castle from MS) kind of in the corner (I hope someone else has better directions LOL) that your 2 y.o. might feel more comfortable using.

:offtopic: I just wanted to say thats great your 2 yr old is using the potty... my son who turned 2 in june won't go near it :sad2: ... hopefully when we go to disney next october he will be using the potty... but it might take some disney magic :wizard: :rotfl:

The Baby Changing Station has FANTASTIC little potties!!! :goodvibes

When I took DD on her first trip, she was 2. I had her in pull-ups but we were already pretty far along the potty training process. She had immediate need during Minnie and Friend's breakfast, and we were outside along the far edges of the patio so I took to the Baby Changing Station and she love it! The toilet was so little, just right for her. Besides, auto-flush toilets still freak her out. :rotfl:

Wow! You are more courageous than I! There have been some great suggestions here on this great board on traveling to DL with children. One I remember that I will use when we go, is to tape or sew your child's info (name, address, phone number, etc) inside the shirt by the hem so the info is on them, but can't be seen by strangers.
As what top 5 rides and things your children want to see and do and plan each day to do a few. Enjoy a character meal during the off times.
Wear your LGMHS and be on the look out for a few. I bet anyone here on the boards would be happy to meet you and spend some time with you especially if you need a bit of a break.
Keeping you in my prayers for a happy, fun, safe trip!:)

Ugh - auto flush potties absolutely freak dd out! She's been trained for a good 4 months (day and night) and has a bladder of steel :). My other two were much closer to 3 when they trained. Last weekend we went to Six Flags for the day and she would not use the toilets - screamed the whole time. She ended up holding it for 10 (yes TEN) hours. I'm afraid she'll end up with a bladder infection if she tries that for several days in a row. She is the most stubborn child ever (gets it from her dad  )

Thanks for the advice...we'll definitely be trying out the baby changing station and if that doesn't work, I guess she'll be wearing pull-ups for the week. Hopefully she won't decide that she likes them better than the potty!

I was pretty surprised when she trained so quickly...must be her 4 year old sister who thinks she's a mommy :).

Bring some small stickers to put over the sensor on the automatic flushers. Then peel it off when your child is done.

You can also purchase a child potty seat to put over the top of the regular seat. Yeah, it might be annoying to bring along but you can just keep it in a plastic bag in your stroller.

This is the one my niece has - http://www.target.com/Dora-the-Expl...0?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k:potty seat&page=1

If they were someone else's kids, I'd say you were slightly crazy. But since they are your own kids, I don't see how that's crazy at all. Especially since I'm sure you take them places on your own all the time anyway.

JaneJetson - thanks for passing it along then!

We just tried out one of those mini potties at the mall and it was a big hit with my 2 yr old - woohoo! Are there any other bathrooms at DL/DCA that have these?
