Will you be observing the national 3 minute silence for the victims of the Tsunami at 12 today? We have had an email from our CEO saying that we all must do it and that the fire alarms will sound in our building to start it and then again when it's over.
I think I will find it difficult to hold back the tears. :guilty:

:guilty: Yes,I just observed it via Sky News and it showed clips of the footages taken when the wave hit and people was washed out, childrens faces and well I spent 3 minutes blubbering, its awful,I cannot even bear to think how people there are coping, etc

Yes, it has just been on during 'This Morning', I didn't know it was happening until it started, but I managed to calm down a house full of teenagers. It was very moving watching the broadcast of the actual Tsunami and the survivors, politicians and children at various schools.

Yes, the whole open plan office I work in observed the three minutes silence, all phones were switched off and everybody stopped what they were doing.

There were a few tears shed, very moving.

I'm working at home and DW is back at work today so it has been silent here all day. I did make a special effort at 12 though and just sat quietly for 3 minutes.

We also had an e-mail from our Cheif Exec saying that all offices would be obeserving the silence and that the phones would be switched off, which I was pleased about.

they didnt observe it here in work but i went out into our server room and observed it quietly myself.

i did it at home tho it wasnt very well observed by the tree under 4's i was looking after today. i thought it was very well observed everywhere else and dd (6) said they did it at school as well

yes i did today while i was shopping and my eldest son had a special assembly in school today, his school is also having a non uniform day on friday which they have to pay £1 and all money is going to the appeal

We observed it at work today. Also on Friday we are having mufti day and a cake sale all proceeds to the Tsunami fund.

My Govt site are having a dress down day for the appeal tomorrow (Friday), there is about 2000 on site so that should do some good

I was with Pete for the day and we were silent for the 3 minutes, it certainly made me appreciate how lucky we are.

Bryn's secondary school and Carys's junior school both observed the silence and both schools are arranging fund raising events.
