I have a different transportation scenario and I seem to be having a hard time getting an answer from a couple towncar companies (I have left phone messages but no calls back).

We are arriving on a Friday morning, going to US/IOA Doubetree for 3 nights, then heading to AKL for 5 nights and will not have a car. What is the best way to do this?

My initial thought was to get a towncar from MCO to Doubletree to AKL to MCO but I afraid that this will cost a lot. Is it possible to get Magical Express only back to MCO on our way home?

Does anyone have any suggestions/experience with this? Any idea of possible cost?

Thanks!

You can book a car service MCO--Universal hotel--WDW and then use DME for your return. My guess is it will cost almost as much as R/T from MCO. Probably around $100.

What Universal hotel will you be staying at? Does their shuttle service work for you? First find out if you want a rental car.

I'm staying at Doubletree and I hadn't thought about the possibility of a shuttle. I'll check that out - thanks!

Well, first, if nobody's calling you back I'd forget those particular car services.

Figure about $50-$60 for each one-way trip. Alternatively, you could take a taxi - somewhat less predictable in price, but comparable and readily available. Just be sure there's a meter and it's operating. Also, you'll have a PM shortly with a recommendation for a reliable car service.

And, yes, you can absolutely use Magical Express one way. Just dial the Operator from your room near the beginning of your trip and ask to be connected with Magical Express, to make your return arrangements.

Doubletree doesn't have a shuttle to MCO. I was suggesting you check shuttle schedules to Universal. I think Doubletree is walking distance. The question is if you want a rental car for shopping or dining. You might price a rental car with a pickup at MCO and a drop off at a location near Disney.
