3 kids, 5 days off, day 1 NOT going well!

The (almost) 5 y.o. has been sent to his room 4 times already today. He seems to be perfecting a high-pitched cry that is going right through me. He punched the 6 y.o. in the back and walked on the back of the 8 y.o. who was on the floor. Any time I ask him to pick up something he left on the floor or do anything at all, that horrible sound starts again. I don't think he has spent a full hour out of his room without getting in trouble. He even had a nap and that didn't seem to help.
The weather is terrible or I would send them outside. My only saving grace is that dh is off tomorrow and we are going to keep busy all day. C'mon tomorrow!!!!

I feel for you. Vent all you want. We have an only child and life has always been peaceful and quiet around our house. God love ya!

I have the same problem with my 5 year old. Usually he needs to sleep or be fed. Hunger really affects him.

I have 1 kid, 5 days Apr vaca/long wknd and HES GROUNDED by DH and the 5 days havent begun yet
DS brought home (5) As, (3) Bs and a 30
I had plans for the 3days over the long wknd - guess they wont be happening

Oh I feel for you! Kids just started their vacation so I'll have DD4 & DD8 home for the next 10 days. I'm praying for good weather so they can be outside. If not, they will both be seeing the insides of their rooms a lot. For us it's the 4yo who goes after her brother...

{{hugs}} We've all had days like that! Just think eventually night will come again and they will go to sleep! Usually when I've had a day like that I go watch them sleep for a little bit. Always amazes me how sweet and angelic they can look when a couple hours before, they were holy terrors!!

How come when they are at school you can't wait for summer vacation then during summer vacation you can't wait for school to start again!!

My DD is the typical 14 year old, likes her breaks from school. but my DS who is 12 is another story. He HATES to be out of school!!! and I do mean hates. He won't miss school for anything or any reason. He could be dying and still go. He has already started making his "protest" sign for the last day of school. He says he protesting the end of school. He wants school to be everyday, all year long. They are out for 10 days and this will seem like the longest 10 days of my life. He gets very depressed, clingy,whiney and complains about having to be home when there's no school. He has Bipolar and ADHD among others and these only make the situation worse. I am glad and thankful he likes school, but sometimes I think he loves it too much. Lord, I am not looking forward to summer.

momof2OH you do have quite an unusual problem. My dh would never missed school either but he did enjoy summer. Good luck and some here to relieve your stress.
