Most of the snakes we see are black snakes but I have seen a few baby orange ones....even after looking them up online I was never able to figure them out. I just hope they all stay out of our pool when it is finished!
Oh boy, did I scream. Scared the poor child almost to death. Didn't do much for my heart either. Needless to say, we were done swimming for the day.
Now that is QUITE ENOUGH of this topic!!!

Worst thing I've *ever* heard!!! We buried our pool and as far as wearing slippers and taking the dog out after dark...no way! We built a terrace up 2nd. floor level and installed a doggie door that opens onto it. You "could" have a snake crawl up there, but we haven't encountered one yet. Yes, "yet".

That's one thing that scares me about moving to Florida, snakes, alligators, lizards, iguanas, frogs, and whatever other weird creatures live nearby.
I am afraid of lots of creepy crawly things, including ants (if more than 10 are in the same area), I freak out and make SO spray the ant spray on them. Even the dog cries when she sees ants.
Wildlife is for the zoo!
(not to be misunderstood as me saying all animals should be in the zoo, I just don't want them within a certain distance of me)

Mom21 said:UMMMMMMM. Maybe you shouldn't move to Florida. We have all of the above animals. Gotta love those tree frogs. Nothing like looking at the sliding glass door and see the little suckers on the bottom of thier feet. Lizards just love to fall in your hair when you open the door. Also if you have animals be prepared for at least one episode of foaming at the mouth due to the poison frogs. Of course it will most always be in the middle of the night, which will entail a visit to the 24 hour emergency vet clinic (ask me how I know!). And ants......girlfriend......it isn't pretty!!!!!!!![]()
We spray and spray and spray our yard. Nothing like a hundred mounds of fire ants. They have their name for a reason. They hurt like fire when they bite. Then your whole foot and leg swells and they leave huge white blisters. Then once the bite come to a white head you have to pop it to get any relief from the pain. Of course that leaves scars--ask me how I know that one also.
Yep gotta love Florida.![]()
