3 Grannies, Disney Dancing & Deviltry! Oh, my!!

I just heard on another thread that Pop Warner will be Dec 7th-15th in 2013. This probably won't matter too much to us except I don't think there will be very many good discounts that week. I've heard that in the past Pop Warner week has been excluded from discounts????? :confused3

I did some searching and found this:

The dates for the Pop Warner Super Bowl are currently 12/5 - 12/15 in
2013.
Thank You,
Team Disney

We've been 3 times during POP Warner week - twice at POP (they stay at POP, AS, CBR and both PO resorts), the other time we did not see them as much because we were over at the Poly. It can be a pain to be at the same resort because the kids are loud, esp in the evenings (girls cheering), pools are full and food court can be mobbed. They are not in the parks much until later in the week - when we were there, MGM closed early on Friday evening for a private party for POP Warner. Otherwise they leave early Saturday morning (what a nice site the 2 Sat we were at POP!). As the week goes on and the Competitions end, they are in the parks more, but it is not terrible. In general, that week is so much busier than 2004 thru 2007 that this yr Disney has a new season and rate category called December Peak...and it is not even the Christmas peak rates!

Mouse Fan Travel generally has their Reunion weekend (Th to Sun/Mon) the same week (not this yr, but moving it back next yr) and they offer discounted rates as well - and they include an IllumiNations Dessert Party two per room free) and some other fun goings on for those who book with them. If a better rate comes out over the dates booked with them, they will change to that rate, if available. DP cannot be added to MFT special group rates.

Do you know how soon MFT publishes their group rates for the reunion? I just checked and nothing on the there yet. If possible I would like to avoid the resorts that the cheerleaders are staying at. I've been there several times during Pop Warner ... only once at one of the resorts that the girls were at ... nothing like trying to go to sleep at night to cheering and then waking up to it in the morning! :scared1:

I don't think they stay at Deluxes too much, I think AllStars is the first for them spill over at Pop and I have heard of some at moderates . Now with AoA and 6 to a room in the suites they may hit that too!!

It would be fun to rent a golf cart one night and drive around FT Wilderness Campground - guests have some incredible Holiday Decorations and it is really fun to tour!

Below is one example and he tells us where to find the best ones!

This does sound really fun. I have seen pictures of some of those decorations and they really do go over the top.

C- I wonder what we would see if we did this October. Do they decorate for Halloween?

Just stopping by to see how the grannie planning is going! :listen:

I was at WDW last year over Halloween and the decorations at FW were amazing. Not sure how early in October people start putting things up. I'll be there this year Oct 14th - 26th and will be making a trip over to take a look. :thumbsup2
