I knew what you meant when I read that and had to chuckle! Disney has so many events, it can be hard to keep up with what's happening when sometimes!!

Rosie, remember our Dec trip is going to be (hopefully) deluxe (WL might be the best deluxe cost wise...and/or renting points) and FD is not such a good value when staying deluxe....BUT...with a good AP rate we could add on the DP to a discounted room and that might work fine!

Also, if we are not all in one room, then not everyone would have to choose the DP.

WOW, that is GREAT news about your UK pension, Rosie!!! Grannie trip here she comes!!

I am not counting on that money as it seems to good to be true , I am waiting for a letter to say oops we were mistaken, but I am in shock that they so quickly notified me !! I will definately be in better shape financially if it comes thru , I can definately pay off a few bills which helps the regular income go further !!!

Very true! Hey, I am ready to look at dates - I will have to know for sure by November 1st because that is when Mia must put her vacation requests for 2013! You won't believe how complicated it is...they do it all in one day, by seniority....go through each person, one week, then go through the list...then the next week and through the list...45 agents right now!!! After all the weeks are done, then they begin days...

I didn't bring it up because I know you already have SO MANY trips in the works!!

One thing to decide is when...dates everyone???

Then where to stay...and do we want to rent points? How many rooms? If we don't rent points, then do we want deluxe or moderate?

Since not all of us like the DP maybe 2 rooms would be good - then those who want the DP can add it on and those who prefer not to have it will have that option too.

Let's get this planning on the way!!!

If there is a week that is likely to have FD , then go for that week. If we rent points it will be Deluxe and if not we need to look for a DEAL for deluxe or Moderate . Those 2 things need to be looked at before Nov 1st or at least the date > Wow by Nov 1st we will have the dates and the dessrt party decided !!

We won't know about possible free dining until next summer...this year it begins Monday, December 10th. I could not find availability for FQ or POR so just to get a price estimate a std room at CBR with FD and a 2 day base tkt for 5 ngts is $1344 at 2012 rates!! (total)

If we book room only with a discount (maybe an AP discount and add dining), it is usually a better savings because we would not have to add in the 2 day tkts (Rosie, be sure to look into upgrading your tkt to an AP when you do a P&P trip in 2013 - then you'll have it for December )

Renting points and adding on the DP is usually the most cost effective - but we would be wise to try to book that 11 mos out to get BWV or VWL. An example: Dec 8 for 5 ngts at BWV for 5 ngts would be $600 for the room...then we add on the DP - MUCH better cost!!

VWL would be $900 for the 5 ngts...

OH NO!!! I just checked Mousesavers.com for December '13 rates and guess what those WDW stinkers have done???? Beginning Dec 13th will now be considered "PEAK Dec"!!!! Outrageous!!! A POR std view room jumps from $176 to $211 before taxes!

Point rental is definitely the way to go...geez....Disney is really making it tough...

EDT: Maybe we could go between Nov 30 and Dec 13 when it is Fall rates? Mouse Fan Travel usually has excellent group rates for a some days early December...but we could not add on the DP. Hey, I could easily do mostly QS.
